Lee Dong Wook Expresses Fondness To His New Show “The Sea I Desire”

Star actor Lee Dong Wook shared his thoughts on being part of JTBC’s new variety show, The Sea I Desire.

The upcoming healing program, The Sea I Desire, casts talented and well-known Korean personalities. Directed by producing director (PD) Song Gwang Jong (Begin Again), the show confirms airing on June 29.

It follows the star cast performing their music and preparing homemade meals on a live bar. Set to film on Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, it features the picturesque sea with various guests. 

On the 25th, Yoon Jong Shin, Lee Ji Ah, Lee Dong Wook, SHINee’s Onew, Kim Go Eun, and AKMU’s Lee Suhyun confirm on starring the show.

Recently, Lee Dong Wook opens up his experiences as the head bartender of The Sea I Desire. He poured his excitement by training and learning cocktail and makgeolli. 

Fans are also excited to see Lee Dong Wook’s talent in diving, cooking, and entertaining guests. 


On creating memories in sunny and rainy weather. 

When the actor accepted the program, Lee Dong Wook said that it would be a new experience. For him, “It would be fun to live at the beach. Making alcohol, performing, and making memories for those who found it. It’s a new experience, so I wanted to challenge myself.”

Lee Dong Wook also mentioned the sunset and rainstorm as part of his unforgettable memories. “The sunset I have seen every day is so beautiful that I thought it was good to do this program.”

“There was a day of heavy rain and wind, and I think I will remember that we closed the business without any difficulty that day,” he shared. 

Furthermore, he extends his appreciation to the whole cast. Lee Dong Wook confessed, “I was thankful that they were all kind people. Everyone was not only doing their best in their work but also naturally helping each other. I was happy to have a relationship with my seniors and juniors.”

In addition, the actor reveals that The Sea I Desire is a “real” variety show. There was no script, and everyone should personally do their work.

Through the show, Lee Dong Wook can finally showcase his true self. With the lessons he learned from his experiences, he wants to apply them to acting.

Finally, the actor invites everyone to relax and heal while watching the show. “You will be able to see the relationship between the members getting closer, the way things get familiar, the great and lovely stage of the performance team, the precious stories of the guests who have visited, and the beauty of the nation’s sea,” Dong Wook concluded.
