Scheduled to be broadcast in the second half of 2023, ENA’s original drama Day of Kidnapping affirmed the actors headlining the series.
Yoon Kye Sang, Park Sung Hoon, Yuna, Kim Shin Rok, Kim Sang Ho, Seo Jae Hee, and Kang Young Seok are set to decorate their new K-Drama characters in Day Of Kidnapping.
The series chronicles an emotional thriller between a clumsy kidnapper and an 11-year-old genius girl. Based on the novel of the same name by Jung Hae-yeon, who represents the Korean thriller genre, this work stands out in an exquisite harmony of humanism and mystery.
Expectations are high on the erratic and delightful pursuit of the truth between a sloppy kidnapper and a smart girl who will provide a different kind of fun and excitement.
Director Park Yoo Young, who participated in A Model Family, Love Alarm Season 2 and Kingdom Season 1, is in charge of directing. Penning the script is Kim Je Young, who wrote the screenplay for Cheese In The Trap, Wonderful Nightmare and Queen of the Night.
Meet the Cast of Day of Kidnapping
Yoon Kye Sang plays the clumsy and weak-minded kidnapper Kim Myung-jun. He got caught up in an unexpected incident and was pursued as a murder suspect while planning a kidnapping to pay for his daughter’s hospital bills.
Next, Park Sung Hoon portrays Park Sang-yoon, a homicide detective who is chasing Myung-jun. Possessing quick judgment and cool-headed analysis, he tracks down the kidnapping case and becomes entangled with Myung-jun.
Playing the role of Choi Ro-hee, a genius girl who lost her memory is Yuna. Ro-hee, who has an uncharacteristically cynical and extraordinary brain, overcomes her crisis by forming a strange bond with kidnapper Myung-jun. As she is a central character in the story, the production team said that they put a lot of effort into casting Ro-hee.
Through five large-scale auditions, Yuna broke through a competition rate of 500:1 and was finally selected. Expectations are high on what kind of synergy Yuna, who showed impressive acting as the main character’s young version in Pachinko, will show off with Yoon Kye Sang.
Meanwhile, Kim Shin Rok takes on the role of Hye-eun Seo, the ex-wife of Myung-joon. She is the one who proposed the kidnapping of Ro-hee.
Character actor Kim Sang Ho suits up as Park Cheol-won, a security company employee while Seo Jae Hee, who made lasting impression in Reborn Rich and Twenty-Five Twenty-One plays neurosurgeon Mo Eun-seon.
Lastly, Kang Young Seok (Insider, Poong The Joseon Psychiatrist 2), transforms into Jayden, a fund manager who dares to do anything to achieve his goal, and is set as the villain of the story.
Inviting viewers to look forward to Day of Kidnapping, the production team assured that the synergy of the actors maximizes the thrill of the story with laughter, emotion, and reversal.
ENA’s original series Day of Kidnapping is scheduled to air in the second half of 2023.
