In Family: The Unbreakable Bond, a spy for the Korean intelligence services walks a fine line between being a model agent and the perfect husband and misses the explosive secret his beloved wife has been keeping from him.
After years of leading a secret double life as a family man and a highly accomplished agent for South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS), things go south quickly for Kwon Do-hoon (Jang Hyuk).
Do-hoon has managed to keep his occupation secret from everyone, including his beloved wife Kang Yu-ra (Jang Nara). Having convinced his friends and family that he is nothing more than an employee at a local trading company.
He works tirelessly to keep up the charade and give his wife the perfect family she has always dreamed of. But little does Do-hoon know his wife has an explosive secret of her own.
Jang Jung-do, who oversaw a number of box office hits such as the dramas What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, Our Blues, and The Crowned Clown, is in charge of directing with Lee Jung Mook. Penning the script is Jung Yoo-sun (Evergreen).
Reliable K-Drama Pairing
Previously, Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara worked on the 5th installment of MBC’s Drama Festival Old Goodbye in 2014. They are also famous for the dramas You Are My Destiny and Successful Story of a Bright Girl.
As such, viewers are anticipating the kind of chemistry they will provide in Family: The Unbreakable Bond. Interestingly, the teasers recently rolled out preview Yura as the #1 in the family hierarchy. Do-hoon, an elite NIS agent, will make people laugh at his husband who becomes infinitely small in front of his wife.
Correspondingly, they will fight hard inside and outside the house to protect their family, raising interest in their synergy as a couple.
The production team has only praises for the lead stars of the series.
