Lauded for her drama roles, Park Min Young has solidified her rom-com goddess status in recent years.
Her latest work, Forecasting Love and Weather aims to join her notable works including City Hunter, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim and Her Private Life.
Forecasting Love and Weather chronicles love and office stories of people working at the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
Just like its workplace setting, the drama aims to depict the life and love stories of the people like the steamy tropical night and unpredictable local heavy rain.
In the drama, Park Min Young takes the role of Jin Ha-kyung. As the leader of Division 2, she is a person who interprets and analyzes even the smallest probability without letting go of tension at every moment due to the weather that changes even with a 1% probability.
Relaying the fresh workplace setting piqued her interest, the actress asserts the difficulty that is entailed in her role. She adorably quipped how medical drama was easier to film.
“It was a difficult field to come in contact with, so it was difficult to gather information. I practiced while looking for social videos and documentaries, but at first, it ws hard familiarizing with the terminologies.”
On Her Fondness To Jin Ha-kyung
Just like Ha-kyung’s thorough attitude towards the weather, Park Min-young analyzed and studied the work in detail. To assimilate to her character, she went for neat and simple suit-oriented styling,
Correspondingly, Park Min-young’s clear acting and accurate diction due to the nature of being a civil servant is reflected in the teaser videos that have been released one after another. She is able to sync to general forecaster Jin Ha-kyung splendidly.
Further conveying her love for her newest role, the actress describes her character in three characters: spontaneous assassin, typical workaholic and love fool.
“I hope that it will remain as a good work as much as I thought and studied it arduously. Ha-kyung is a principled person, and I am a little inflexible. She focuses on her work, thus, it takes precedence over dating. She does her work perfectly, but if you look closely, she’s afraid and doesn’t know how to date.
Giving a peek at the romantic point of Forecasting Love and Weather, the actress revealed what to expect in her love journey with Song Kang.
“It’s not just a young-age romance, but the process of two people with all personalities and inclinations standing at opposite points colliding and growing with each other in an interesting way.”
