Hospital Playlist 2 will be airing this June 17 and fans can’t wait to meet the gang!
But before we dive into the excitement, Director Shin Won Ho shared key points that might give us ideas for the upcoming installment of the well-loved series.
Hospital Playlist explores the amazing bond among five friends who have stayed close with each other since attending medical school together 20 years ago. They can practically read each other’s minds and know each other like the back of their hands.
In their 40’s life begins for each of them. With careers as doctors, the pragmatic lives of people living, dying, and just passing by in the hospital will be narrated from their different perspectives.
Empathy
“Everybody wants a story with empathy.”
Hospital Playlist received a lot of love from its first airing with its authentic and emphatic storyline. “What everyone who makes a story wants is empathy,” said PD Shin. “I think it is only by empathizing with viewers that makes us achieve our purpose (for this drama)”.
In addition, he also relayed how there is a pandemic going on ever since they started preparing for the first season. He added, “Until now that we are doing season 2, I like to see again the days when our viewers have this ordinary routine where they can say that they can relate their daily lives to particular scenes in the drama”.
Emotion
“Keep warm emotion of our drama that viewers expect.”
The characters of the series capture the beauty of ‘humanity’ and the emotions with it. The story is touching and warm with mild humor that ordinary people love. Director Shin conveyed, “Even in season 2, we try to keep that feeling and atmosphere that season 1 has.” Promising to retain the trademark warm emotion, he said Hospital Playlist 2 will add a deeper story and relationship between characters”.
Rhythm
“Season 1 is the reference point and Hospital Playlist 2 sticks to the same mood.”
The rhythm between the characters is undeniably good from the start. So in this season, various episodes will center on the characters with rhythmic pace, delicate alignment with overall balance, and increasing relation to the plot.
“Season 2 has references from season 1. Thus, its key point is to ensure it will not sway off the base.”. In addition, he also said that going deeper into the story is what they asserted in the narrative instead of bringing something new.”
