“If You Wish Upon Me” Intrigues With Jaded-Looking Ji Chang Wook

Ji Chang Wook has tattoos all over his arms, foreshadowing a hard life for his character in If You Wish Upon Me.

KBS 2TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama directed by Kim Yong Wan and written by Jo Ryeong Su is a healing drama about a precarious young man driven to the end of his life. He grants people’s last wishes at a hospice hospital and heals his pain.

This work was inspired by an actual foundation in the Netherlands that grants patients’ last wishes.

In the released two teaser posters, attractive Ji Chang Wook sports tattoos on his arms drawing the attention of the viewers.

In the drama, Ji Chang Wook takes on the role of Yoon Gyeo-rye, who is barely holding on to the present without a motivation to live.

Yoon Gyeo-rye is a “broken adult child” who has a habit of inflicting pain with tattoos all over his body.

In the teaser poster, Ji Chang Wook created an image completely different from the characters he played before.

Ji Chang Wook’s emotionless eyes and weary expression, suggest the harsh life of Yoon Gyeo-rye, who lives with hatred in the world.

In another teaser poster, Ji Chang Wook holds a puppy in his arms, which contrasts with the rough feeling of the previous poster, feeling lonely.

Standing on the beach as he stares at the sand with shrunken shoulders, he encapsulates the meaning of “broken adult child” Yoon Gyeo-rye, who turned his back on the world.

The production team said,

“Ji Chang Wook was completely immersed in his character and we admired his acting every moment of filming. Please look forward to the drama to see what kind of story Yoon Gyeo-rye, who has lost the will to live, will be able to break through the walls of the world and live a happy life.”
