KBS2 is set to warm hearts this August with the premiere of its new weekend drama starring Jung Il Woo, Jung In Sun, and Yoon Hyun Min in a story that promises emotional resonance across generations.
Splendid Days (LT) is a multigenerational family melodrama that explores what makes each person’s “splendid day” unique. With acclaimed director Kim Hyung-seok (Cheat on Me if You Can, My Golden Life, My Love from the Star, Oh My Venus) teaming up once again with beloved screenwriter So Hyun-kyung (Twenty Again, My Daughter Seo-young, My Golden Life), expectations are soaring for a series filled with heartfelt moments and layered storytelling.
Jung Il Woo takes on the role of Lee Ji-hyeok, a man admired for his success in both career and romance. Charismatic, sharp-witted, and cool under pressure, Ji-hyeok appears to have it all—until he hits rock bottom. His journey of rebuilding, rediscovering purpose, and learning what truly matters lies at the emotional core of the drama. Known for his versatile performances in dramas like Bossam: Steal the Fate, Cinderella and Four Knights, and Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, Jung is expected to deliver a nuanced portrayal full of depth and relatability.
Jung In Sun plays Ji Eun-oh, a vibrant cafe manager and interior designer who lives passionately, even in the face of hardship. Warm and unwavering, Eun-oh remains by Ji-hyeok’s side even after heartbreak. Jung In Sun, who has earned acclaim for her grounded and emotionally rich performances in My Secret Terrius, Still 17, and Welcome to Waikiki, is set to unveil another evolution in her acting career through this role.
Yoon Hyun Min rounds out the trio as Park Sung-jae, a polished and poised chaebol heir raised in luxury. Beneath his flawless exterior, however, lies a quiet loneliness. As he becomes entangled in the lives of Ji-hyeok and his family, he must navigate the delicate balance between love and loyalty. With previous standout performances in True to Love, Men Are Men, and Witch at Court, Yoon brings his signature depth to this emotionally complex role.
The production team shared, “Jung Il-woo, Jung In-sun, and Yoon Hyun-min form a truly splendid ensemble. We hope their portrayals of deeply human emotions and heartfelt stories will bring a sense of comfort and empathy to viewers of all ages.”
Splendid Days will take over the weekend drama slot on KBS2 TV and is set to make its highly anticipated debut in August.
