Netflix dropped fierce posters featuring Jun Ji Hyun, Park Byung Eun, Kim Roe Ha, and Koo Kyo Hwan for Kingdom: Ashin Of The North. 

Premiering on July 23, Kingdom: Ashin Of The North unveils the origins and secrets of “life and death” in the eagerly-awaited series. This special episode of Kingdom tells the beginning of the tragic story in the North part of Joseon before the pandemonium of the monster outbreak.

The streaming giant’s released posters and teasers attracted fans who await the next season of Kingdom. Though Kingdom: Ashin Of The North is only a special episode, the audience should expect a fierce and vengeful packed story.

Introduced in the character posters are the main characters of the story.

As Ashin herself, the writer of the special episode praised Jun Ji Hyun for portraying the character well. Writer Kim Eun Hee shared, “Is there an actor who fits the role compared to Jun Ji Hyun?”

Jun adds a bitter taste to the story. Her character, Ashin, lost her family and came back to revenge them. Furthermore, she discovered the resurrection plant that caused the chaos.

Her character poster shows an emotionless yet powerful spirit.

In addition, actor Park Byung Eun connects the dots as Min Chi Rok. The actor turns into a character full of loyalty and faithfulness for his country. He is Joseon’s devoted soldier that defends his country from Pajeowi.

Director Kim Sung Hoon praised park Byung Eun. “Thanks to Park Byung Eun who worked hard, his work shone,” complementing his passion for acting. 

Thirdly, the leader of the Seongjeoyans and Ashin’s father, Ta Hab comes alive through Kim Roe Ha

With a superior and strong presence, Ta Hab is as fierce as her daughter on his poster. Ta Hab adds a charismatic taste to the story. He also aims to get the public office position and showed his determination by participating in espionage.

“An actor full of tenacity in softness,” the director described the actor.

Finally, actor Koo Kyo Hwan transforms into a tribal chief of Pajeowi, Ai Da Gan. His presence shows great leadership and ruthlessness as he leads his troops to power while shedding blood along the way. 

Furthermore, the actor receives a compliment from the director as well. “Thanks to the unpredictable appearance of the old man, he was able to be recreated into an unobvious unique character.”
