Netflix has announced its latest rom-com, Boyfriend on Demand, starring the dazzling duo of Jisoo and Seo In Guk.
The series follows webtoon producer Mi-rae, who, overwhelmed by her demanding job, escapes into a groundbreaking virtual dating subscription program—where dream boyfriends come to life. Mixing relatable work struggles with an imaginative spin on romance, Boyfriend on Demand (working title) promises to redefine modern dating.
Jisoo (Snowdrop) takes on the role of Seo Mi-rae, a workaholic whose love life is practically nonexistent—until she stumbles upon a mysterious Monthly Boyfriend device. Through this virtual reality platform, she meets impossibly perfect partners, reigniting her long-lost romantic side.
Seo In Guk (The Smile Has Left Your Eyes) plays Park Kyeong-nam, Mi-rae’s sharp and competitive colleague. Though brilliant at his job, his presence unsettles Mi-rae. Beneath his cold and aloof exterior, however, lie hidden emotions that could shake up Mi-rae’s virtual fantasies—and her real-life feelings.
Directed by Kim Jung-sik (Work Later, Drink Now, No Gain No Love), a master of blending romance with comedy, Boyfriend on Demand is set to deliver heart-racing moments and plenty of laughs.
