The gripping crime thriller Nine Puzzles has taken the world by storm, officially becoming the most-viewed Korean title on Disney+ both globally and across the Asia-Pacific region in 2025.
Premiering on May 21, the smart and suspenseful series stars Kim Dami and Son Suk Ku and has quickly become a global obsession thanks to its intricate whodunnit narrative. The story centers on Yoon Ena (played by Kim Dami), a high school student who stumbles upon her uncle’s murdered body—next to a lone puzzle piece—and becomes the prime suspect after failing to explain her presence at the scene. A decade later, now a skilled criminal profiler, Ena is drawn into a chilling string of murders, each linked by an eerily similar puzzle piece.
The show also features standout performances from Son Sukku as sharp-eyed Detective Kim Hansaem, Kim Sungkyun as the commanding Police Captain Yang Jungho, and Hyun Bongsik as Detective Choi San. Helmed by director Yoon Jongbin (Narco-Saints, The Spy Gone North) and written by Lee Eunmi (Tunnel, Navillera), Nine Puzzles blends cerebral mystery with emotional intensity, earning critical praise and fan devotion alike.
Part of Disney+ Korea’s ambitious 2025 lineup, Nine Puzzles follows other buzzy releases like Unmasked and Hyper Knife, with even more on the horizon—including the treasure-hunting adventure Low Life, and the globe-spanning thriller Tempest.
Catch the first nine episodes of Nine Puzzles, now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
