The eight-episode drama One Ordinary Day held its script-reading, together with actors Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Seung Won, Lee Seol, and Kim Sung Kyu.
Directed by Lee Myung Yoo and written by Kwon Soon Gyu, the mystery law drama One Ordinary Day delves into the criminal justice system involving two men who investigate a murder of a woman.
Kim Soo Hyun plays an ordinary college student Kim Hyun-soo who, after one drunken night of fun, finds himself the prime suspect in the gruesome murder of a woman he had spent the night with.
With all circumstantial evidence pointing at him and the case receiving increasing scrutiny in the media and on social media, the prosecution is eager to declare him guilty.
The only person who comes forward to take his case is Shin Joong-han (played by Cha Seung Won), a small-time lawyer who barely passed the bar exam. He decides to help Hyun-soo on his intuition that he is innocent.
With the odds stacked against them, the pair must put up an intense fight to bring justice and reveal the real perpetrator in a case that will not only change their lives, but also shake the criminal justice system of the country.
Star-Studded Collaboration
One Ordinary Day has a sturdy combination of actors. Added to this is the emergence of rising actors like Kim Sung Kyu and Lee Seol.
During the script reading, director Lee warmly greets everyone who attended. The actors performed with pronounced synergy, wearing their own characters.
Lead actor Kim Soo Hyun expressed a variety of emotions that his character, Hyun-Soo, experiences. Meanwhile, Cha Seung Won, who took a break from making dramas, came back as a third-class lawyer that has the heart to help Hyun-Soo.
Other actors, such as Kim Sung Kyu who was known for his impressive acting in The Gangster, The Cop, and The Devil. He also played the role of Young-Shin in Kingdom Seasons 1 & 2. In One Ordinary Day, Kim plays Do Ji-Tae, a powerful man in the prison’s food chain.
Together with rising actress Lee Seol, expectations spring up as she becomes a “clumsy sunshine chick lawyer,” which will give a significant excitement in the drama.
“One Ordinary Day is a well-made drama that will expand the spectrum of criminal dramas, and I ask for a lot of attention and expectation for the series which will give a special message.” said the production team
