tvN’s omnibus weekend drama, Our Blues, is all set to premiere on April 9!
Giving a peek at one of the stories to be highlighted, the network unveils a quick video teaser.
To be penned by acclaimed writer Noh Hee Kyung, the new tvN’s Saturday drama will be directed by Kim Gyu Tae.
Our Blues is a work that chronicles the sweet and bitter lives of all who stand at the end, climax, or beginning of life. It tells the life stories of various characters in an omnibus format against the backdrop of warm and lively Jeju and the cold and rough sea.
Boasting a roster of 14 lauded actors, the special omnibus series heralds a unique taste from existing works. Actors from all generations gather to portray the lives of ordinary people set in Jeju island.
Celebrated actors Lee Byung Hun, Cha Seung Won, Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Jung Eun and Han Ji Min lead the series along with Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin. Seasoned actors Kim Hye Ja and Go Doo Shim also join the cast. Rounding up the lineup are actors Bae Hyun Sung, Roh Yun Seo, Park Ji Hwan, Choi Young Jun and Ki So Yu.
A Reunion Story Worth Anticipating
In the teaser video, a glimpse of the story between Lee Byung Hun and Shin Min Ah was highlighted garnering excitement from anticipating viewers.
Lee Byung Hun takes on the role of Lee Dong-seok, a Jeju native who lives a rough life. He reunites with Min Seon-ah (Shin Min Ah) when her car broke down. Returning to her hometown with a story, the video hints at how they were close when they were young.
Their reunion brings back unresolved emotions as implied by Lee Byung Hun’s words: “Why did you do that to a guy who only liked being with you?”
The scene where Shin Min Ah stands on the breakwater crying her out, while Lee Byung Hun guards her side, leaves a deep impression with the dazzling seascape enriching the mood of that moment.
Lee Byung Hun and Shin Min Ah, who capture the gloom, the vagueness, and the explosion of emotion in the 40-second teaser, show the power to immerse the viewers in an instant. With just a gaze and a few lines, the story of Lee Dong-seok and Min Seon-ah in Our Blues was unraveled.
Our Blues will premiere on April 9th at 9:10 PM.
