SBS’ upcoming drama, Payback, releases photographs of its first table-read along with a spectacular character lineup.
The drama Law Money depicts a thrilling tale of vengeance, following those who risk everything to take down a cartel of wealthy criminals who have conspired with the government. It is a collaboration between writer Kim Won Seok (The Queen’s Classroom, Descendants of the Sun) and director Lee Won Tae (Wicked Man’ and ‘Captain Kim Chang-soo).
Meet The Cast of Payback
Payback features a star-studded cast lineup, raising the bar for what the audience can expect.
For the lead cast, taking on the role of Eun-yong is Lee Sun Kyun, a money trader who risks it all to restore the honor of the person he was grateful for but was sacrificed in an unjust transaction.
Meanwhile, Moon Chae Won portrays Army Major Park Joon Kyung, a morally upright prosecutor who is ultimately willing to transform into a monster to defeat the enemy.
Adding to this are the excellent choices for the supporting characters’ roles.
Young actor Kang Yoo Seok plays Eun-yong’s nephew, Jang Tae-choon, a fiery young prosecutor with a hunger for power. Park Hoon transforms into the character Hwang Ki Seok, a top prosecutor who will gladly work with the enemy to rise to the top.
Meanwhile, Kim Hong Pa is the money cartel’s greedy chairman, Myung In-joo. Hong Han-na, portrayed by Kim Hye Hwa, is the business partner of Eun-yong and a former lobbyist and current chief executive officer of a private equity fund. Additionally, Choi Duk Moon, as Nam Sang-il, is a highly experienced veteran of the prosecutor’s office.
Moreover, some acclaimed actors will also make guest appearances in the drama.
Seo Jung Yeon will portray Jang Tae-choon’s mom, Eun Ji-hee, while Kim Mi Sook takes on Park Joon-kyung’s mom, Yoon Hye-rin.
Lastly, Lee Ki Young will play Oh Chang-hyun, a former chief prosecutor at the Seoul District Prosecutor’s Office who has begun teaming up with the evil cartel.
The upcoming Friday-Saturday drama Law Money will premiere on SBS on January 6, 2023 at 10:00 p.m.
