“Queen Wu” Commands Attention With Confirmed Powerhouse Cast

Queen Wu narrates the story of Queen Wu, the target of five tribes trying to seize power and princes who are aiming for the throne due to the sudden death of the king.

Portraying the titular role as Woo Hee, the queen of Goguryeo is Jeon Jeong Seo. Woo Hee who has beauty and intelligence lacks power because of the nature of her birth.

The only person she can rely on in the desolate palace is King Go Nam-mu, but as her husband is given a desperate crisis, his own status as well as his family is threatened.

Kim Mu Yeol plays the role of Eulpaso, the prime minister of Goguryeo and the king’s soldier. Eulpaso has the ability to overcome the weakness of being a descendant of an indigenous family and climb Daemak Ridge. He is in charge of state affairs in the trust of King Go Nammu, but unresolved desire resides in his heart.

Ji Chang Wook plays the role of Woo-hee’s husband Go Nam-mu, the king of Goguryeo with a brilliant mind to lead 5,000 soldiers and defeat 30,000 soldiers of the Han Dynasty.

He is a perfect king who has all the dignity and benevolence of a king, but his absence soon brings blood to the palace.

Woo-hee’s older sister Woo Sun is played by Jung Yu Mi. She has the most beautiful looks even in the northern part of the country, which produces queens for generations. She is a person who lost her position as queen to her younger sister Woo Hee through a momentary choice.

In response, Woo Sun becomes her sister’s handmaiden and enters her palace to reclaim her own destiny.

Lee Soo Hyuk plays the role of Goguryeo’s third prince Gobalgi, a candidate for succession to the throne, adding to the tension of the power war.

When given the opportunity to claim the throne, Go Bal-gi, who has a vicious and despicable temper, begins to express his greed that was suppressed by fear of his older brother, the late Nam-mu.

Park Ji Hwan will perform passionately as Mugol who is the great captain of the king’s direct army. A courageous warrior who skillfully handles any weapon, Mugol is a commander who protects King Gonammu with loyalty forged through a long war.

Queen Wu is attracting attention with the meeting of a top-tier cast who have captivated viewers with their bold acting.

Accordingly, it will build a solid worldview based on the record of Queen Wu, who maintained power by choosing a marriage custom in Goguryeo, which is rare in Korean history.

Queen Wu will be released on TVing in 2024.
