Taste Of Horror project series consists of horrifying stories, striking casts, and incredible directors
The original omnibus horror series launches the first season of the Taste Of Horror project in August.
Taste Of Horror is a new project based on webtoons and short-form video content. From 20 webtoon series, a few picked by the directors will publish on Kakao Page and premieres on the screen.
Five directors will work on two projects to complete a total of ten short films. Working together on Taste Of Horror are director Kim Yong Kyun, Lim Dae Woong, Ahn Sang Hoon, Yoon Eun Kyung, and Chae Yeo Joon.
An emotional and powerful fear
First on the list in leading the project is director Kim Yong Kyun’s (Like A Butterfly, Webtoon: Pre-Murder) Tick Tock Tick Tock. He confirms that child actress Park So Yi (Law School, Encounter) and Yoo Da In (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, Doctors) will work with him.
Tick Tock Tick Tock is a heartwarming horror about a child who starts to see ghosts and is abused by her mother. Park So Yi’s and Yoo Da In’s contrasting characters expect to show an emotional performance.
Director Kim Yong Kyun’s A Fitness Center For Residents is played by Yoon Hyun Min (Witch’s Court, Tunnel) and Jang Kwang (The Crowned Clown, A Korean Odyssey).
It follows the story of residents who haunts by ghosts in the fitness center. Yoon Hyun Min and Jang Kwang synchronized interpretation and soft charisma give birth to another terrifying role.
A fierce and vague feeling in Taste Of Horror
Next on the list is Lim Dae Woong (Missing: Taxi Kidnapping Incident, House Of Time), where he specializes in horror and mystery films.
His first project, Rehabilitation, narrates the story of a trapped and injured emergency medical technician in a mysterious place. Leading the sub-episode are Lee Joo Young (Itaewon Class, The Ghost Detective) and Kim Joo Ryung (The School Nurse File, Mr. Sunshine).
The two actresses expressed their passion for these kinds of genres. The audience awaits a vague fear in Rehabilitation.
On the other hand, Ko Eun Min (18 Again, The King: Eternal Monarch) and Lee So Young (The Devil Judge, Navillera) adds more fear and visuals to Delivery Completion.
The story sets in a no-contact era where fear forms when all communication is made digital. The combination of the actress’s fierce and fresh performance stimulates the audience.
Bizarre and extraordinary plot
Adding up in Taste Of Horror is director Ahn Sang Hoon (Blind, The Age Of Innocence). Ding-Dong Challange consists of talented members of CLC; Oh Seung Hee, Jang Ye Eun, and Jang Seung Yoon.
Ding-Dong Challange is a bizarre horror film where school girls grant their wishes if they complete a bizarre dance challenge. These three members of the CLC attract attention for taking the first step in the acting industry.
Ahn Sang Hoon’s second work depicts the relationship of a couple that shatters because of AI speakers. “Hey, Mamons” is portrayed by Ban So Young‘s (Happy Sisters) and Kim Taekyun‘s madness with extraordinary chemistry.
Magnificent yet gruesome
Coming through with a deep depiction is director Yoon Eun Kyung (Hotel Lake). His first work features Shin Eun Soo (The Legend Of The Blue Sea) and Kim Ho Jung (Hyena, Age Of Youth 2).
Four-Legged Beast is another unique horror story about sacrificing a four-legged animal’s blood in exchange for higher grades. The two actresses combine as a mother and daughter that provides luxury and spice with their execution.
Director Yoon Eun Kyung’s second film follows the story of Jin Tae where he steals gold teeth to pay his debts. Kim Dong Young (River Where The Moon Rises) and Shin Moon Sung (Sweet Home) meet on Gold Teeth with their powerful presence and acting experience.
Crazy and impressive performances
Finally, director Chae Yeo Joon completes the series with his passionate works of Jackpot and Gluttony.
Kim Tae Hoon‘s (Kingdom Season 2) and Jo Jae Yoon‘s (Mad Dog, The Penthouse 2: War In Life) crazy and dramatic execution fits well with Jackpot. It narrates the greed of a low-life who won a jackpot on a lottery.
On the other hand, Gluttony is another bizarre story of a participant with anorexia in a famous mukbang broadcast. Choi Soo Im (Bring It On, Ghost) and Park Jin Ah (Between The New Red) team up to create a horrifying enactment.
