Netflix’s The Glory reveals its latest poster along with a dark introduction for Song Hye Kyo’s vengeful character.

The streaming giant recently released the second poster and a teaser trailer for the original series, The Glory. The story follows a woman whose innocence was ruined by childhood violence and now sets a vicious vengeance she has plotted and prepared for her whole life.

This marks the first collaboration of director Ahn Gil Ho, the creator of Happiness, and writer Kim Eun Sook.

The unveiled poster features Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye Kyo) looking into the distance while clutching a devil’s morning glory in front of a barren tree. The combination of divine visuals contrasting with the dark and dreary words, “Let us slowly dry and die together,” strikes a profound impression on its viewers.

In addition, the accompanying teaser trailer gives a glimpse of Dong-eun’s pent-up rage. Her inner self is brimming with burning hatred and resentment that is difficult to conceal, and her laid-back steps for her carefully planned path of revenge are notable.

Writer Kim Eun-sook had previously pointed out that victims of school violence prefer a genuine apology over a monetary settlement, conveying the meaning behind The Glory‘s title.

“At the moment of violence, the victim’s pride and dignity are shattered. What they want is to reclaim it.”

As a mother of a high school student, she felt compelled to address the issue of school violence. She went on to explain that she strives to have viewers grasp the underlying message that there is nothing wrong with wanting justice.

Moreover, Director Ahn Gil Ho hinted at a strong working relationship with screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, saying:

“The script’s emotional lines were apparent and resembled a well-structured literary work, so the most important thing was to convey it well without missing it. I focused on capturing its reality rather than making it cool.”

Furthermore, Song Hye Kyo complimented the scene led by the director.

“Thanks to the director’s meticulous preparation, the atmosphere made the acting richer.”

The Glory will premiere worldwide on December 30 on Netflix.
