MBC’s forthcoming drama The Red Sleeve officially held its table-read and announced the date of its pilot episode.
Directed by Jung Ji In and written by Jung Hae Ri, the historical romance series The Red Sleeve is set during the 18th century.
King Jeong-Jo (Lee Jun Ho) is a crown prince who fell in love with a court lady named Seong Deok-Im (Lee Se Young). When the crown prince officially now becomes a King, he wants Deok-Im to be his royal concubine.
Conflicts came when Deok-Im refuses the king’s offer because she wants to have a peaceful and free life which is not possible when she becomes a concubine. However, in the end, Deok-Im eventually became the King’s concubine.
Passionate Characters That You Need to Tuned To
During the drama’s script reading, all the characters showed their eagerness of being part of the production.
Firstly, Lee Jun Ho who plays the role of the king gave a glimpse of his character. King Jeong-Jo is known to be an arrogant yet perfectionist man. He also raises expectations of his anticipated sexy charms and charisma to be seen in the drama.
Meanwhile, Lee Se Young who portrays Deok-Im describes her character as “the court lady who can’t help but love.” The audience is excited because her character would give a mouthful of bright charms.
Lastly, Kang Hoon who gave life to Hong Deok-Ro, a character with a warm appearance and a cool spirit magnificently relays what to expect from him.
Moreover, other actors like Jang Hee Jin and Park Ji Young also did their best to dress their characters in the drama.
Finally, ending their script reading, Jun-Ho admits that he was cheery with the harmony he weaved with Se Young.
“Lee Se-young was an actor who I wanted to meet through his work someday, and I’m happy to be in harmony with her. She seems to have a special and different charm than my first impression,” said Jun-Ho
The actor also expressed his expectations that the production of The Red Sleeve would attain remarkable teamwork.
The Red Sleeve would release its’ first episode on November 5, 10 PM on MBC.
