Lee Se Young Embodies a Graceful Court Lady in “The Red Sleeve”

MBC unveils stunning stills of Lee Se Young as the female lead in The Red Sleeve.

The Red Sleeve, an account of the king’s bittersweet court romance, is set to premiere in November.

As Jeongjo’s sole court lady, Lee Se Young’s exquisite and refreshing look compels attention. She portrays Seong Deok-im, who wishes to live independently of the king’s innumerable women.

Eventually bearing the surname Ui-bin, Se Young chases her own small happiness in a court where intense politics come and go.

She also captures audiences with the image of a dignified court lady that makes even the king of Joseon fell in love with.

Admirable Court Lady Seong Deok-im

Lee Se Young is dressed in a breathtaking hanbok in her adoring initial stills. Physical manifestations of meaningful poetry include a pale pink jeogori, elegantly braided hair, and a pretty short face.

Unlike typical court ladies, she sits alone in her library and writes in her book. She has an independent and intelligent charm. Amidst a lush forest, she runs and beams in a radiant smile, evoking the freedom of a butterfly.

Transforming into the attractive Court Lady Seong Deok-im, Lee Se Young piques interest in the court romance she would enact with Lee Jun Ho, named The Crown Prince Lee San.

MBC’s The Red Sleeve is spearheaded by director Jung Ji In, whose previous works include Radiant Office and Should We Kiss First, and writer Jeong Hae Ri, who co-wrote Ruler: Master of the Mask.
