It’s a visual feast in tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday series, Useless Lies!
Along with its schedule update, the series also presents the complete lead cast.
Useless Lies traverses the romance story of a woman who can’t trust people because of her ability to detect lies and a genius composer who hides an unspeakable identity.
The series is billed as an exciting love story with hints of intrigue that would present a different flavor of reality-based fantasy sprinkled in a romantic comedy.
Director Nam Sung-Woo and writer Seo Jeong-eun, who showed delightful and sensuous productions through My Roommate is a Gumiho, Love In Contract, and Kkondae Intern, are working together to bring another energizing treat for drama fans.
Above all, expectations are focused on the synergy of Kim So Hyun, Hwang Min Hyun, Yoon Ji On, Seo Ji Hoon, and Lee Si Woo.
Kim So Hyun transforms into Mok Sol-hee, a liar hunter who can hear lies. Growing up listening to all the lies in the world, she is cynical about everything. Although she has unrivaled abilities, she considers herself a curse rather than a blessing.
One day, when her faith in humans hit rock bottom, Kim Do-ha (Hwang Min Hyun), a man who is terribly suspicious but never lies, comes next door and she faces a new phase in her life.
Kim So Hyun looks forward to her drama comeback and reveals enjoying filming for Useless Lies.
“I’m so happy and excited to be with the director and the actors I’ve always liked. I’m filming hard so that I can show you a lot of new and fun parts through Mok Sol-hee, so please look forward to it.”
Next, Hwang Min Hyun plays Kim Do-ha, a star composer with a shocking secret. He is a reclusive loner who is perfect for starving to death, but Kim Do-ha, who has genius composition skills at the same time, lives as a faceless composer for some reason.
In the meantime, he gets entangled with the strange girl next door, Mok Sol-hee, and starts to regain his lost smile.
Hwang Min Hyun promises a new look to his latest role.
“I am honored and happy to take on the role of Kim Do-ha. I think I can show a different side of myself for the first time because it is a cryptic character. Please look forward to it.”
Portraying Jo Deuk-chan is Yoon Ji On. Deuk-chan is the representative of J Entertainment who knows Kim Do-ha’s identity. He has a unique entrepreneurial temperament and leadership and is the one who led Kim Do-ha, who lived like a disabled person, to the path of being a composer.
He is also the only person who knows his special secret like his own brother. The actor expresses excitement and vows to add vitality to the series through his character.
Seo Ji Hoon is Mok Sol-hee’s first love and acts as Lee Kang-min, a detective with a sense of justice. After reuniting with Mok Sol-hee after three years, he meets complicated feelings as he learns the identity of Kim Do-ha.
“I’m excited to be able to show a new and diverse side of myself as a police officer for the first time,” Seo Ji Hoon said.
Lastly, Lee Si Woo plays the role of a top solo singer and the nation’s younger sister, Sha-on. She is an honest and hot girl crush who has made the public fall into her charm with her delicate emotional voice.
Conveying her happiness for her latest work, Lee Si Woo hints at a drama that viewers would love.
“I am really happy and grateful to be able to be with Sha-on. It’s a work with many points that you might like, and Sha-on is also lovely. I am preparing and filming hard with a heart full of excitement and gratitude.”
Meanwhile, tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Useless Lies will premiere in July.
