Hyping viewers, Vigilante presents the character of Lee Joon Hyuk in the latest teasers.
When a victim of a brutal crime sees his mother’s attacker get off lightly, he will dedicate his life to making criminals pay in Vigilante.
The series is headlined by Nam Joo Hyuk (Start-Up, Twenty Five Twenty One) as the vengeful vigilante Kim Ji-yong; Yoo Ji Tae (Oldboy, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area) as Jo Heon, a ruthless detective committed to stopping the Vigilante at any cost; Lee Joon Hyuk (Stranger, Designated Survivor: 60 Days) as Cho Kang-ok; and Kim So Jin (Through The Darkness, The Spy Gone North, The King) as Choi Miryeo, a broadcaster who exposes the Vigilante’s actions.
In the drama, Lee Joon Hyuk portrays Cho Kang-ok, a second-generation tycoon who is a big fan of “vigilante”.
Kang-ok is a young vice-chairman of DK Group, a leading company, and is a person who uses money and information to follow ‘Vigilante’ in his own way.
As a child, he dreamed of becoming a hero. After seeing the news about the appearance of a vigilante, he feels joy at seeing a true hero appear in reality. He becomes a big fan and starts to follow him.
Lee Joon Hyuk, who plays the role of a second-generation chaebol with a unique charm and a free-spirited nature that never knows where to go, will show a unique acting transformation and add another layer of fun to the drama.
Accordingly, Lee vividly expressed his character with intense analysis so he could complete a colorful and attractive character with his unique wit and immersive acting, crossing between the sophisticated appearance of a chaebol and spontaneous madness.
“I really wanted to do this because I thought it wouldn’t be easy to meet such a unique character. Cho Kang-ok is a character with more freedom than other characters, so I tried to believe in the freedom of this character. While preparing for Kang-ok, I thought of myself as someone who lives like a character in a musical, and I got help from watching entertainment shows, documentaries, and reality programs.”
Director Choi Jeong-yeol said, “I thought it would be nice to have an elegant and classic feel, but also sexy. In that respect, I thought actor Lee Joon Hyuk suited him very well. I kept getting the feeling that he was like a sharp sword, and he was an actor who really brings surprises to the scene.” He expressed satisfaction with the work he had done.
