Bad Prosecutor Episode 11 Highlights
The events after Jung and Prosecutor Park’s conversation reveal the meeting of the latter with CEO Seo. Kneeling on his knees, CEO Seo apologized for what happened when Prosecutor Park asked him to bring back the family he lost.
He even relents when Prosecutor Park asked him to put in writing that he will not bother Jin Jung and the people around him. Innately evil, CEO Seo asked first for some water and then takes the opportunity to hit the prosecutor with a sharp object. Outside, Do-hwan witnessed the crime and was casually invited by the CEO he served to clean up the mess.
“I’m done being polite, so listen to me now. I will never forgive you. So, never regret what you did or ask for forgiveness. Don’t get caught without my permission. Just stay where you are. I’ll find you and kill you.”
Bothered by obeying CEO Seo’s remorseless murder, Do-hwan confronts the reality that he is already considered an accomplice as highlighted by his evil boss.
CEO Seo even visits Prosecutor Park’s wake to pay respect. Allowing him to do so, Jin Jung chases after him and warns that he will never forgive him.
He also knows that CEO Seo has the MP3 player which Prosecutor Park switched to bargain for Jung’s safety. Warning of his plan to kill him, Jin Jung got a reply that CEO Seo will root for him.
After sending off the deceased Prosecutor Park, a mysterious man contacted Jin Jung and tips him of the weapon used to kill his mentor. Following that, the autopsy report unveils DNA traces of CEO Seo Hyun-kyu. Enraged, he frantically looked for him but can only vent out his frustration to CEO Seo’s son who accepted the physical assault nonchalantly.
Getting an earful from Ara for another misbehavior to his name, Jin Jung is more determined to bring justice. He moves to meet Prosecutor Kim and asks about evidence that Prosecutor Park previously mentioned he has about Seo Hyun-kyu.
However, Prosecutor Kim refuses to cooperate and blames him for causing the death of his friend and even Prosecutor Lee. Reminding him how his stubbornness caused irreversible damage, Jin Jung acknowledged his arrogance but is still determined to finish the fight. Unfortunately, Prosecutor Kim wants him to end the fight he’s passionate about citing he wants to keep them both alive.
“The real power of this country does not belong to the people. It belongs to Seo Hyun Kyu.”
Challenging his senior about his fear of CEO Seo, Jin Jung argues how as prosecutors they should be feared by criminals and not the other way around. His chiding gets into Prosecutor Kim who tells him about an archive of recorded atrocities of the rich and powerful that CEO Seo has access to.
He tells Jin Jung that CEO Seo’s archive is the only thing that can bring down the man who is really at the seat of the nation’s power.
Receiving a call from CEO Seo, Jin Jung meets him at an appointed place. There he learns that his friends were rounded up through CEO Seo’s power.
Jin Jung listens to the CEO’s offer to become his man to save his friends from being imprisoned while boasting about the immense power he can wield. Turning down the offer, Jung declares having all the trump cards and that he does not scare him at all.
Checking on Ara, Jung gets the affirmation to proceed with his risky plan. But he gets kidnapped by Seo Ji-han who took the evidence against his father. Beating Jung, CEO Seo arrives and engages in a pep talk about the true meaning of cruelty and justice. Still, Jung refused his offer so they were asked
Meanwhile, Ara and Chul-ki go to the detention center to get Joong-do and Eun-ji released. Through the app Eun-ji installed, they were able to track the missing Jin Jung.
“He is my secret card.”
Seeing Jung’s battered face, upright Ara got enraged and ask the team to beat Ji-han’s men. Chasing after the escaping man who almost killed him, Jung returned the blows he got. When Ji-han woke up, Jung tells him that CEO Seo blamed all the faults on him.
Giving him an option for a lifeline, Jung asked Ji-han to reveal the location of his father’s archive. Believing his father really abandoned him, Ji-han wrote down the address.
It turns out that Jung pulled a con against Ji-han to get to CEO Seo’s archive. Arriving at the place, the man tending the bookstore alerts CEO Seo of the presence of a man in the bookstore.
Getting a box that holds a pistol, CEO Seo and Do-hwan drive to the same place where Jin Jung already found the secret door to the archive.
Commanding Do-hwan to kill Jin Jung since they are at the perfect place to silence him; Do-hwan points the gun at Jin Jung, then switches it to CEO Seo.
Bad Prosecutor Episode 11 Musings
We know the moment Do-hwan reflected a bit of conscience that he is not entirely bad. His motivation for playing double agent will be unveiled in the final episode.
Cornered by two prosecutors, and knowing we are facing closure, it would still be interesting to watch if CEO Seo still has an answer to the solid attack Jin Jung threw at him.
Going to the final episode, it would be a delight if there will be still surprises left in the narrative. But the fact that it has stayed true to its direction with room for character growth is already commendable for its dozen-episode run.
It’s also a great choice for opting to go pure action-comedy and not loop serious romantic notes to fortify the hero-centric story.
Can Jin Jung achieve his ultimate goal to subdue CEO Seo? Don’t miss the final week of Bad Prosecutor on KBS2.
