Launching an investigation into the murder found on a sugarcane field, Seung-hun hears out what Moo-sik has to say. Meanwhile, So-jung takes a run on Ms. Ko’s winnings, but Philip warns her of the dangers of getting tracked.

Big Bet Episode 7 Highlights
“Luck is on your side today.”
Winning a lot on her game, Ms. Ko celebrates and Seung-hun captures this through a video. He then sends the file to his superior as evidence of Ms. Ko’s gambling.
Local police discover the sugarcane field murder, and Seung-hun confirms that the two victims were Korean nationals. Wishing to put some priority on the case, Seung-hun gets assigned by Mark to handle the investigation.
Through the president of their community association, Seung-hun learns about Kyung-young also known as Charlie. While he gathers information on him at the pork belly place, he meets Kyung-young there.
Asked about the victims of the murder, Kyung-young tells Seung-hun that he only dropped them off at Korea Town. After being probed for more details, Kyung-young angrily leaves Seung-hun.
Looking through Kyung-young’s house, Moo-sik and Jung-pal trace how he committed the murder. Looking through the CCTV and GPS history, Moo-sik leaves with documents he may need from Kyung-young.
“Don’t do anything you’ll regret.”
Moo-sik gets alarmed to hear So-jung running away with Ms. Ko’s winnings. He explains the difference between the employees of the hotel and the casino, which displeases Ms. Ko.
Based on Jong-hyun’s information, So-jung has already a record of a fraud case. Searching for her house, Moo-sik asks Jung-pal about his involvement, so he pledges his loyalty to him. Meanwhile, Moo-sik notices the lighter Philip has hidden in the tissue case.
Now in Manila, So-jung calls her mom to give her assurance that they can finally live together in a house they own in their hometown.
Seung-hun picks up his superiors and briefs them about the case. He hears from Mark that it may be difficult to secure a warrant and that Mr. Cha dropped by the sugarcane field as if knowledgeable of what happened.
“Come on, beggars can’t be choosers.”
As if being interrogated, Moo-sik feels offended and walks out on Seung-hun and his chief. However, they later reconcile and cooperate in bringing information about the murder case.
From a money changer, Moo-sik learns where So-jung is, and he gives Philip a warning after seeing So-jung’s passport in his place.
Philip tries his best to stop So-jung from her plans since it’s dangerous knowing the connections of Mr. Cha. However, she remains persistent.
Sang-gu, who gave Philip a ride, witnesses a man dressed in police clothes shooting Philip and So-jung in the car. He sees the car where the money bag gets transferred and helplessly reacts to the case inside the car.
Big Bet Episode 7 Musings
Listening to what Seung-hun’s coworker Mark has to say, the case of the murder at the sugarcane field implied that it was a complicated one since an influential person like Mr. Cha looked into it. Nonetheless, Seung-hun knows how to use his charm and work with various types of people for the case to progress.
On the surface level, Moo-sik appears to be reliable and helpful on the case, which may make the investigation complacent with the information he provided. However, Seung-hun seems to have an intuition about Moo-sik’s inner dealings.
No matter how generous Moo-sik may appear to be, he now shows his scarier side after So-jung’s run of Ms. Ko’s winning. Once his business in the casino is disturbed, he now makes use of the connections he has in an unimaginable way.
Philip was right when he said that he and So-jung cannot escape Moo-sik since he has connections all over the place. So-jung, though she has a pitiful situation, was stubborn to keep the money that was not hers to take even at the beginning.
With the recent happenings, the series becomes more interesting as its season’s finale comes close. From just showing the dealings at the casino, the series finally shows the darker route it pursues which can be anticipated at its finale and in its second season.
