After learning Shin Geum-hui is Shin Ha-ri, President Kang punishes Ha-ri at work as a form of retribution and to show her how foolish it is to deceive someone like him. However, Kang Tae-mu’s icy demeanor vanishes when Shin Ha-ri sincerely apologizes and discloses her true identity to him in what she mistook for a dream.

Business Proposal Episode 5 Key Moments
“I’m going to take my time to make her realize just how big of a mistake she’s made.”
Conversing with Cha Sung Hoon, Tae-mu reveals to him that Shin Geum-hui’s real identity is actually Shin Ha-ri. He then tells him that, while he is taking his time, he is going to make Ha-ri pay for the grave mistake she has committed.
Ordering Shin Ha-ri to repeat the kimchi ravioli, President Kang uses this as one of his punishments for her. He compels her to prepare the kimchi ravioli multiple times and even repeats it even if he simply glances at it without attempting to taste it.
Having their meals at the cafeteria, Kang Tae-mu, along with his secretary and grandfather, decides to taste the food prepared by their staff. Then, all of a sudden, Tae-mu’s gaze is drawn to recently arrived Shin Ha-ri and Chef Min-woo.
Shooting fiery glances at Shin Ha-ri, Tae-mu thinks inwardly that Ha-ri even dares to date someone else openly at work. When Ha-ri notices Tae-mu’s glare, she immediately urges Min-woo that she has changed her mind and wants to eat outside.
Inviting Shin Geum-hui to the Founding Anniversary Ceremony, Mr. Kang simultaneously presents a prestigious award to Shin Ha-ri, causing both of her identities to be torn apart by her appearance at the event.
“How could an experienced researcher be so careless? Wait. Why am I worried about that woman?”
Picturing how the event would unfold for her, Ha-ri thinks that switching from Geum-hui to Ha-ri would be a chaotic scene for her and may cause her to lose her job. She even devises a plan to avoid receiving the award, but Tae-mu acts fast as he invites Ha-ri’s family to the celebration.
Along with visualizing her likely scenario, she dreams of her family discovering her identity and President Kang terminating her employment. That is when Tae-mu and his secretary awaken the sleeping Shin Ha-ri with the smell of burning kimchi ravioli.
Inquiring as to where the ravioli is, Ha-ri carelessly touched the hot pan’s cover, searing her hands. Tae-mu tries to see if her hand is injured but immediately stops himself from demonstrating his concern.
Following that, Tae-mu recalls the incident with Ha-ri’s scorched hand and considers how, if she is aware she has done wrong, Ha-ri should just tell him the truth and beg. Also, he wonders how an experienced researcher could be so reckless, and for a brief moment, he thinks why he is concerned about her.
After receiving a call from a drunk Ha-ri, Tae-mu rushes over to where she is since he hears her fall to the ground and is afraid that something might have happened to her. Finding where she is, he eventually locates the sleeping Shin Ha-ri at the playground’s slide.
“Shin Ha-ri is Shin Geum-hui. It feels so good to let it out. I’m sorry for everything.”
Waking up Shin Ha-ri, Tae-mu assisted her in sitting and subsequently received a confused expression from her. On the other hand, Ha-ri wonders how Tae-mu knows to travel from her current location.
Ha-ri believes it is a dream since Mr. Kang would not come hurrying to take care of her in that manner. She consequently seizes the chance to confess to him that she is Shin Ha-ri and conveys how nice it feels to be free of the burden of keeping a secret. Then, Ha-ri apologizes to him for everything she did.
Relying on his deduction, Tae-mu thinks that what he feels for Shin Ha-ri doesn’t make sense. He even considers himself to be dealing with something fake, as if it were real.
The following day, Tae-mu forgives Shin Ha-ri’s wrongdoing and then dismisses Shin Geum-hui. He decides to go on a business trip, denying his affection for Shin Ha-ri. However, during his time abroad, all he can see is Shin Ha-ri’s face, which causes him to think about her constantly.
Business Proposal Episode 5 Musings
Whirling to the point of view mostly from the male lead, Business Proposal episode 5 shows us how to set our standards high through the adoringly suppressed feelings of Kang Tae-mu.
Despite his appearance of showering Ha-ri with punishments, Tae-mu already develops his feelings for her. Thus it led him to express his jealousy to Ha-ri and Min-woo being together. Aside from that, rushing over to where the drunk Ha-ri is equating to his genuine care for her.
Witnessing Tae-mu relinquish his resentment, undoubtedly warms our hearts. Considering he initially longed for getting revenge on Shin Ha-ri for deceiving him into believing she was someone else.
However, as soon as he hears her apology and confession, he promptly forgives her because of his increasing affection.
Furthermore, we discovered in this episode that Ha-ri recognizes that Tae-mu is already aware of the truth because he purposely addressed her by her true name when they met in response to his grandfather’s request for a meeting with Shin Geum-hui.
Apart from feelings being real, Kang Tae-mu and Shin Ha’ri’s relationship is about to get real, as we have seen in the preview for the upcoming episode.
We would certainly not want to miss Kang Tae-mu’s confession to Shin Ha-ri. Likewise, we hope that Ha-ri will have mutual feelings for Tae-mu so that our adorable archaeopteryx will not move to go for unrequited love.
