Delivery Man Final Episode Highlights

Tracking Gyu-jin through Nurse Hee-yeon, Young-min and Ji-hyun find him and also sent a message to the police. Strangely, Gyu-jin also magically sees Ji-hyun and his spiteful nature knows just what to do.

After hearing Young-min beg, he still throws the mobile phone. As soon as it burst Ji-hyun disappeared. At the hospital where Ji-hyun stays, she regains consciousness.

Unfortunately, Gyu-jin was released because Nurse Hee-yeon admitted to the crimes with evidence.

Suggesting using her as bait, Ji-hyun gets transferred to Daehun Hospital where of course Gyu-jin moved to murder her as expected. Caught in the act by Young-min, he fled but was finally pinned down when he tried to kill himself.

Delivery Man Quick Plot Recap *Spoiler Alert

Facing financial problems, a cryptic ghost adds to the pressing concerns of Young-min (Yoon Chan Young). Strangely, the ghost named Ji-hyun (Bang Minah) seems attached to his taxi.

But later, it was revealed that Ji-hyun’s mobile phone left in the taxi serves as her ghost battery. They also realize their connection through Young-min’s mother who used to drive the taxi. She was unfortunately a victim of a hit-and-run.

It turns out that Ji-hyun is not dead and currently in a coma and is not aware of it. She also does not have any recollection of past memories while drifting in the limbo state of living and the afterlife.

Deeming it necessary to uncover her weird state as a ghost is supposed to move on if she falls in love… and she did with Young-min. Sadly, the truth about Ji-hyun’s mysterious existence and Young-min’s mom’s unfortunate demise involves someone they did not expect.

Delivery Man Series Highlights

Adequately Constructed Story

While ghost stories in K-Dramas have seen an influx lately, it’s amazing that they still can offer something new.

The same goes for Delivery Man which incorporated wish-granting moments to departed souls and solved a serial killing case at the same time.

While navigating the narrative, this drama ensured layering humor, romance and excitement along the way.

Smart Character Screentime

Looking back, it is impressive to think that the lead pair and the supporting cast created a recall with their portrayals.

That attests to the efficient screentime provided for each of them. From the quirky shaman to Young-min’s taxi club friends and Daehun hospital staff – you can easily remember what they are and what they did in the story.

Considering the series is only 12 episodes, the creative team did a great job to balance their exposure to the story.

Delivery Man Series Musings

Delivery Man anticipated the right number of episodes to keep the interest going. Certainly, it did not provide spectacular moments but its stability and funneled narrative made it a sufficiently good watch.

Gifting viewers with a nicely delivered twist on Ji-hyun’s “wandering ghost” situation was definitely a sweet treat to fans.

In understanding the motivations of the villains who shared pains and evilness, the story cushioned how Gyu-jin’s past trauma pushed him to a point of no return.

This is a reminder that committing a wrong choice and not feeling remorseful about it can lead us to self-destruct.

Lastly, filial love is also highlighted with warmth in the series. Ji-hyun and Youngmin reflect on how meaningful a good relationship with parents is.

Children with amazing connections to their parents have stronger ties to their values and won’t easily succumb to mental health concerns.

Take the backseat of Young-min’s taxi as he fulfills the wishes of spirit passengers in Delivery Man!
