Previously, Young-min and Ji-hyun helped a ghost whose wife could have succumbed to fraudsters’ intent to get their money.
Young-min also recognizes the hairband he gave his mother.
“How do you think I knew your mom?”
Trying to look for the hairband in her mom’s belongings, Young-min’s grandmother also brings to light some photos of his mom with Ji-hyun in her phone. Of course, Ji-hyun does not remember his mother at all.
One of the customers that Young-min and Ji-hyun took in apparently is a shaman. He tried to convince Young-min to get rid of Ji-hyun as she is bringing jinx to his taxi. But he chooses to protect her.
They also learn that the cellphone he found inside the taxi is the item Ji-hyun is attached to. When it does not have power, she is also sent to a scary ghost limbo.
After earning money from a human customer, Young-min contemplates if he will charge the phone. He is also haunted by Ji-hyun’s thoughts every now and then.
When his friend’s mother got lost and he sees her grieve while describing her mom’s condition feels like a ghost, he goes to look for the phone his grandma threw. He also finds a charger for the old phone to bring back Ji-hyun.

Young-min’s decision to have Ji-hyun by his side solidifies the connection between them. We got a vague picture of how Ji-hyun’s and Young-min’s deaths are related, and more details are surely going to unfold based on the detectives’ investigations.
Hints of romance are expected to raise the growing affection between Young-min and Ji-hyun. Given their circumstance, it’s okay not to fully invest but enjoy the saccharine moments they will share moving forward.
This episode’s key detail involves the cellphone that triggered the connection between Young-min and Ji-hyun. Chances are high that it also holds crucial information about the cryptic deaths introduced in the series. That is why Ji-hyun might have been magically imprinted in the device.
