Doctor Cha Episode 9 Highlights
Contemplating her options, Jeong-suk moves out of In-ho’s house after learning the truth about his infidelity.
Still, she did not move to confront her husband about it. Seung-hee also boldly presents herself to In-ho’s mother.
Alone in absorbing the emotional turmoil of her recent discovery that her husband has been making her a fool.
On her birthday celebration, all she could do momentarily to vent her frustration is to dunk In-ho’s face on her birthday cake.
Later, she makes an announcement of moving out of the house and gives an excuse that she wants to focus on her residency.
At a medical volunteer event, In-ho is mindful of his wife’s interaction with Dr. Kim. The latter senses a change of emotional behavior in Jeong-suk but chose to wait for her to open up voluntarily.
At night, So-ra leads Jung-min for their alone time and they happily look at the stars. When she asked for a video of Whipple procedure, he gave his phone nonchalantly.
Browsing other videos on his phone, she sees a video of Jeong-suk’s birthday celebration.
Simultaneously, In-ho and Dr. Kim are drunk and merry enjoying karaoke in the setup field of the medical mission.
When In-ho spots Jeong-suk, he calls her attention by blurting yeobo (love) which surprises Dr. Kim and all the medical staff.
Doctor Cha Episode 9 Musings
We love how calm and collected the main character of Doctor Cha is. Instead of moping about her situation, Jeong-suk takes her time to process the pain and betrayal she just received.
Nevertheless, her disappointment is bound to increase when she realized that her children knew about their father’s unfaithfulness. Still, her compassionate nature would understand her children’s reason to protect her and not make her feel hurt.
Jeong-suk’s indifference to learning about her husband’s affair traces to the reality of how the foundation of their marriage was not established, to begin with.
While it could have progressed over the course of time, the reality that it started in the spur of the moment pushed In-ho to have an affair with someone he has a strong emotional attraction to, Seung-hee.
In-ho’s reaction to his wife’s recent chummy interaction with Dr. Kim does not warrant the viewers to root for him and just save their fictional marriage. Hopefully, he gets his bearing right and assesses the proper action for the mistakes he committed.
So-ra’s stumbling of her might-be mother-in-law adds fun to the story as we look forward to how her interaction change. We also have to appreciate Jeong-suk’s mother-in-law for not acknowledging Seung-hee’s intention when she met her.
Will Jeong-suk’s identity as In-ho’s wife finally get revealed in the next chapter of Doctor Cha?
