Grid Episode 2 Key Moments

Sae-ha reports to Director Choi about his involvement in a murder case as a witness. He also feeds her about the report made by Detective Jung about the possible accomplice of the heartless serial killer.

The members of the Administrative Bureau office march to the police station handling the case of Kim Ma-nok. Demanding all the evidence and taking over the investigation, Sae-ha and Eo-jin head to NFS to get the reports obtained by Detective Jung.

Meanwhile, Kim Ma-nok tries to steal money, but the “ghost” intervenes with his plan. It looks like he is also brewing another evil deed that hopefully, won’t involve the ajumma restaurant owner.

Receiving the expected news that the bureau won’t take part in the investigation, the team members appeal to Director Choi. She relents and suggests working on the connection between Kim Ma-nok and the “ghost”.

Sae-ha’s Ulterior Motive

Competent, filial and clever, Sae-ha’s trivial office activities seem to be part of his hidden plan. We can infer that it involves Project Grid and the “ghost” as his confrontation with Detective Jung later revealed his memory of the “ghost”.

He even hacks on the office system and is keenly observing his boss. Keen to get Director Choi’s fingerprints, he schemes a plan to get it using her tumbler. Unknown to him, she has a notification system that alerts if her office is intruded.

What excuse will he give to his boss in the next episode of Grid?

Grid Episode 2 Musings

What makes Grid worth anticipating still is the enigmatic character of “ghost”. So far, we know she loves sweets and is an organized person who sets her tasks well.

Based on the report of NFS, her DNA is unique as well, and her presumed ability to travel through time and space is another part we can be curious about.

Kim Sae-ha and Detective Jung are also characters conceived with vague motivations which can make viewers interested in understanding where they’re coming and seeing their end games.

How the characters would all intertwine at one point is a bonus surprise considering the storytelling is stingy. It mainly generates attention by how distinctly charming the presentation of the lead characters is so far.

Giving us small details until the narrative forms its big picture is seemingly the direction this series wants to take. Thus, if you are an impatient watcher, better settle for a binge-watch.

Grid streams on Disney+ every Wednesday.
