Link: Eat, Love, Kill Episode 8 Highlights
“Just because I finally found my sister doesn’t mean the rage and hatred have gone away.”
In the previous episode, Lee Eun-jung tried to attack Jin-geun with a knife which surprised everyone. Jin-geun was able to remove the knife from her hand and started to attack her as well.
Bok-hee and Chun-ok also rush to Gye-hoon’s restaurants with tools after finding out that Jin-geun has returned, again. Their heated fight then stopped thanks to Gye-hoon and the response of officers Mi-joo and Won-tak.
Furthermore, Eun-jung reveals her true identity and that she wasn’t looking for Jin-geun but for her sister whom he kidnapped and murdered. After seeing Da-hyun and her sister’s belongings on his social media posts, she thought that Da-hyun might be an accomplice.
Da-hyun shared her experiences with Eun-jung to clear any misconceptions about her and proved that she is also a victim of Jin-geun. Eun-jung then reveals that she has finally found her sister’s dead body and is slowly accepting the reality.
With that, Gye-hoon allowed her to rest and heal her heart away from Jihwa-dong for a while.
“The reason why I visited you many times and why they always carry around tools was also because of him.”
On the other hand, Noh Da-hyun finally gets the courage to talk about her experiences with the police officers. As their secrets were about to be exposed because of Jin-geun, Gye-hoon and the others lied to change the situation.
With that, Da-hyun is able to reveal that Jin-geun has been stalking her and that everyone is protecting her from him. Officer Min-joo grabs the opportunity to talk with Da-hyun about it over a drink.
Even though Da-hyun opens up, she still can’t share the whole story for fear of hurting her family, and friends.
“You can’t keep on making me feel confused. You act friendly one minute then ice-cold another.”
While Da-hyun is out to drink with Officer Min-joo, Gye-hoon becomes worried and anxious since Da-hyun is still not home. He waited outside in the cold night until he saw her from a distance.
Moreover, Gye-hoon can’t hide how worried he was and scolded her for returning home late. Even though Da-hyun was drunk, she bluntly expresses her feelings about Gye-hoon’s change of mood which confuses her.
As a response, he indirectly confesses his feelings and admits that he is scared that Da-hyun might disappear. Surprised and dazed by his confession, Da-hyun assures Gye-hoon that she will not disappear.
“So we were all… We were all children of Jihwa-dong. Four of us grew up to become adults and… one who couldn’t grow up.”
Lee Jin-geun’s mysterious statements to Gye-hoon continue to bother him and sound familiar. To ease his mind, Gye-hoon recalls his childhood memories and remembers a child who turns out to be Jin-geun.
Additionally, Jin-geun told Da-hyun that they did not first meet in their workplace. This information now makes sense to Da-hyun since she went to the same school as Jin-geun, Gye-hoon, and with the same class as Gye-young.
Along with these, Gye-hoon also finds out that Ji Won-tak was also his former classmate and is the son of the alleged kidnapper of her sister, Ui-chan. He changes his name as he was called the son of the murderer after he turns his father to the police.
The four then reunite as Gye-hoon tries to get the information from Jin-geun on the night he witnesses Gye-young’s disappearance.
