Nevertheless Episode 6 Key Moments
“She disappeared.”
After her encounter with Seol-a, Nabi goes back to her hometown for a break that will last for about a week. Upon noticing Nabi’s absence, Jae-eon feels empty and stares blankly at his butterflies.
Nabi’s aunt picks her up from the bus terminal, and as they arrive at the pottery studio, her aunt mentions she has seen Do-hyeok in the market. She then teases Nabi for liking Do-hyeok the most in the past.
Ji-wan calls Nabi to persuade her one more time to join the workshop as the location changed to her hometown. Nabi asks if Jae-eon would attend, but Ji-wan lies to her, affirming that Jae-eon is not joining since he has other plans. With that, Nabi tells Ji-wan that she’ll come when she has time.
“You’re my first love.”
While driving, Do-hyeok sees Nabi walking alone and he invites her to go to the beach together. She agrees and they enjoy the view of the ocean together. Do-hyeok cooks for Nabi and tells her that he prepared the whole camping set-up when he heard she was coming.
Nabi commends Do-hyeok how good he is at saying sweet things, and that he must have dated a lot. Do-hyeok denies and reveals that he has not dated anyone yet, and the person he always likes has a boyfriend.
The night goes on, and Nabi shares her story about her first boyfriend. Do-hyeok disagrees that her ex is not her first boyfriend, and Nabi is puzzled by what he said.
He then goes on as to how he gave up in the past because he heard she already has a boyfriend. The conversation then leads Do-hyeok revealing to Nabi that she is his first love.

“The ugliness and pain of happiness, and lack of freedom. That’s what butterfly tattoos symbolize.”
Jae-eon visits the bar where he and Nabi first met, and he recalls their time there together. A woman sits with him, and opens a conversation about his butterfly tattoo.
Jae-eon shares the meaning of a butterfly tattoo, but later tells the woman that he has the tattoo because he just likes butterflies. Their conversation about butterflies continues, and Jae-eon invites the woman to see some butterflies.
“That’s unrealistic. As soon as you have certainty, that relationship becomes weak.”
Confiding to Jae-eon, Gyu-hyun expresses his doubts on his relationship with Bit-na. Jae-eon suggests that Gyu-hyun should be honest with Bit-na just like how he was with him.
He continues and asks what he wants from Bit-na, and Gyu-hyun answers that he wants certainty and sincerity in the relationship.
“Your mom said that dating isn’t about picking the nicest person. It’s about meeting someone special to you.”
Nabi asks her aunt if a person is angry when they send you a message that says, “Where are you? Let’s talk.” The random question surprises her aunt. Nabi shares to her aunt how she promised herself when she was little to never date because of her mom’s failed relationships.
However, her aunt responds back to Nabi telling her that she respects her mom for being able to passionately fall in love with new people despite being hurt.
“I know very well that a person who doesn’t know how to love someone can never be happy.”
Seol-a meets with Jae-eon on his birthday, and she returns his lighter to him. She also reveals to Jae-eon that she lied to Nabi about dating each other at present. Jae-eon also meets up with his mom, and he receives a new car as a gift.
Jae-eon disagrees with his mom as she assumes that his son has someone he likes as he asked about Paris. His mom then tells him that she regrets the most for pretending not to know her own feelings.
With his new car, Jae-eon arrives at the guesthouse managed by Do-hyeok, and his arrival shocks Nabi.

Nevertheless Episode 6 Musings
First of all, I would like to appreciate the chemistry between Han So Hee and Chae Jong Hyeop. They really look so cute together, and they give off a warm homey feeling. By looking at the way how Do-hyeok stares at Nabi, viewers could tell how sincere his feelings are.
However, we come back to the reality that there’s also Jae-eon who’s also competing for Nabi’s feelings. In this episode, it appears that he’s trying his best to become sincere so that Nabi may come to realize that he is not joking around with his feelings towards her.
Although it was quite questionable when he invited the woman in the bar to see some butterflies, Jae-eon finally seemed sincerely determined to pursue Nabi by the end of the episode after his talk with his mom.
This episode teaches the viewers the importance of certainty and sincerity in a relationship. Just like how Gyu-hyun and Nabi may be feeling, it’s really difficult to enter a relationship where you feel that your partner is not sincere. Such problem in the series also reflect the uncertainties of the youth when it comes to dating.
In the next episode, viewers shall anticipate the next events that will happen in their department’s workshop. We shall also look forward to how Nabi and Jae-eon’s relationship would turn out given that Nabi still thinks Jae-eon has a girlfriend. With Jae-eon appearing in the scene, we shall see how Do-hyeok will respond and express his feelings for Nabi.
