Nevertheless Episode 7 Key Moments
“I’m the one who made a mistake. He’s probably pretty upset.”
On his way to the guesthouse, Jae-eon stops by to ask for directions from the vendors. On the other side of the market, he excitingly sees Nabi, but his smile fades away as he sees she’s with Do-hyeok. He arrives in the guesthouse, and they coldly exchange their introductions.
Bit-na along with the other students from their department arrive also, and they are also shocked by Jae-eon’s attendance at the retreat. Ji-wan apologizes to Nabi for lying that Jae-eon was not coming to the retreat and also checks up on her relationship with him. Nabi denies that Jae-eon did something wrong, and instead claims that she herself was the one who made a mistake.
“His familiar smells are haunting me.”
Bit-na sets up Nabi to be alone with Jae-eon in the Ferris wheel by asking Do-hyeok to join their ride. Just like how Bit-na planned, Nabi rides the Ferris wheel with Jae-eon alone. Jae-eon confronts Nabi about not contacting him at all even on his birthday. Nabi answers him back by telling him he has a lot of people who can greet him on his birthday, and proceeds to apologize for being harsh to Seol-a.
Jae-eon comes close to Nabi, and tells her that he wants to hear happy birthday from her. He reaches for something in Nabi’s hair, and Nabi coldly tells him that he could have just told her. Jae-eon then asks her if he hates him that much.
“Are you jealous?”
Arriving back in the guesthouse at night, Yang Do-yeon sees Jae-eon, and focuses her attention on him. She helps Do-hyeok, her cousin, and also keeps Jae-eon company during dinner. Do-hyeok looks at Nabi from time to time while Nabi keeps an eye on Jae-eon and Do-yeon.
Bit-na approaches Nabi and asks her to keep her updated so that she knows how to keep things in order. However, Nabi reveals to Bit-na that Jae-eon has a girlfriend, and Bit-na doubts the information.
Se-hun sees Nabi and Do-hyeok together, and he teases them on how they look like newlyweds. Other students join him in teasing the two, and they interview Do-hyeok on how he came to know Nabi.
Do-hyeok answers them that he and Nabi were childhood neighborhood friends, and also announces to everyone that Nabi is his first love.
“Stop making me get my hopes up.”
Gathered together at night, Bit-na starts the whisper game. On Do-hyeok’s turn, he stares at Jae-eon, and then whispers his question to Nabi. As an answer to the question, Nabi tells Do-hyeok that it is him who makes her smile the most among the people present.
On Jae-eon’s turn, he answers Nabi for the question asked to him, and many are curious about what the question is. It turns out to be about who he wanted to kiss that night.
Ji-wan gets drunk and hyper, so Sol brings her inside the room to make her sleep. While lying down, Ji-wan asks Sol to hold her hand again.
She suddenly sits up and tells Sol that she likes her the most and asks her not to hang out with anyone else other than her. Ji-wan passes out, and Sol pleads with Ji-wan not to make her raise her own hopes up.
“I started this knowing that you thought of me as a joke. But I can’t stand it anymore.”
Their department goes to the beach at night to light up fireworks. Bit-na sits down with Gyu-hyun, and she lights a sparkler to brighten up the mood. Gyu-hyun scolds Bit-na for making fun of others during the games, but Bit-na justifies herself.
As the sparkler runs out, Gyu-hyun seriously tells Bit-na that they should end their relationship as he can no longer tolerate how he’s being treated in the relationship.
“I feel like I’m going to crumble down again.”
Nabi stays inside the house while the others go to the beach. Jae-eon sits with her and tells her that he saw her get hurt also by the broken glass.
He treats her wound, and Nabi stands up stopping him from what he’s doing. Jae-eon tells Nabi that he missed her, but Nabi argues that he already has a girlfriend.
Jae-eon blocks Nabi from going, asking her if she really wants him to let go. He tells her that he will stop if she wishes to. Nabi just stares at Jae-eon, and they then draw in together for a kiss.
Nevertheless Episode 7 Musings
A lot of events happened for the side characters in this episode. Gyeong-jun persuaded Min-young to keep staying at his house, and even introduced her to his mom as his girlfriend.
Ji-wan became bolder with her intentions with Sol. Gyu-hyun broke up with Bit-na on the beach. There is progress in the stories of the people from their department.
Meanwhile, a love triangle was officially formed in the group retreat. We saw that Do-hyeok kept his eyes and heart only for Nabi. On the other hand, Nabi’s mind appeared to be only occupied with Jae-eon.
Although Jae-eon accepted Do-yeon’s company, it’s clear that his character changed. He really seemed to be more determined in pursuing Nabi.
It just hurts to see how Do-hyeok excitedly prepared something on the beach, but Nabi stayed back in the guesthouse. Even though she ought to avoid Jae-eon, she ended up kissing him back when they were left alone together.
Seeing her together with Jae-eon at the end of the episode, it appears that Nabi chooses to be entangled again with Jae-eon and his butterflies.
Even with just the crumbs of affirmations from Jae-eon, Nabi looks like she is inevitably drawn towards him. She tries hard to escape from her entanglement with Jae-eon, but she always ends up doing otherwise.
She’ll say that she’ll avoid him since everything is insincere and uncertain, but still gets caught up with him. With Do-hyeok, everything seems to be sincere and certain, but in the end, it’s still Nabi’s choice.
In the preview, we see that Jae-eon is scouted by people abroad. Do-hyeok moves forward with his feelings for Nabi. Moreover, he confesses his feelings for Nabi, and viewers shall anticipate Nabi’s reaction to this.
