Picking up from the drunk conversation of Ye-jin and Ma-ri about Ji-hun’s disheartening love story, One Dollar Lawyer shared the beginning of Ji-hun’s law career.
Taking over Joo-young’s vision to help the poor but deserving clients, he also has an ulterior motive of investigating the death of his father and lover.
Receiving a call from Ye-jin, Ji-hun meets the warm gaze of Ma-ri who just listened to his sob story. The next day, she continues to be overly kind and Ji-hun confessed missing her old self.
Ma-ri’s display of kindness continues which bothered Ji-hun who thinks she’s trying to keep her job at the office because she’s nowhere to go.
“I want a refund. Give my money back!”
The spotlight on today’s episode features Manager Sa who got scammed while trying to sell his vehicle. Responding to an online post selling vehicle, he goes to meet the dealer who showed the car he was interested in.
The modus of the car dealer company is to lure the buyers with a good-looking car. Then, they will present its flaws and offers another car with the same features, but is actually broken in reality.
Ji-hun pretends to be a buyer and asks the dealer to introduce him to his boss as he needs additional money. Dragging Ma-ri as another worker, they infiltrate the dealers’ camp.
Coincidentally, Prosecutor Na Ye-jin is working on the same car scammer organization that seems to be running nationwide. When she was approached by Ji-hun, they were able to trap the “Car King”.
One Dollar Lawyer Episodes 9 Musings
This episode appears to be the “calm before the storm” as One Dollar Lawyer prepares to take off to wrap up the concluding chapters of the series. Despite an obvious downplay, it stays aligned to its direction to unearth the mystery that Ji-hun has been decrypting since becoming a lawyer.
Delineating a lesson of being wary of fraudsters accords with the series’ intention to present relevant and relatable cases that normal people can experience. Fittingly, it emphasizes the importance of having doubts about the hidden agendas of presented deals.
Sometimes, we settle for buying something pre-owned with a cheaper value. While there’s nothing wrong with it because sometimes there are really items that were barely used, there’s still a slim chance that we’ll end up not being satisfied when the real reason why it was sold manifests. Most of the time, it will disappoint.
