Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2 Episode 7 Highlights
“Keep a close eye on both the man and the woman and write down everything they get up to. Focus especially on immoral behaviors.”
After filing a petition, District Governor Ahn still wants to find more evidence to bring Physician Yoo down. He appoints one of his constables, Chil-sung, to monitor every immoral act that Physician Yoo and Lady Eun-woo do.
As one of the Gyesoo Family’s close and trusted friends, this task slowly torments Chil-sung. Nevertheless, he bravely takes this task and honestly wrote down every activity that happened inside the clinic.
Every time District Governor Ahn reads his report, he can’t find any scandalous act that he can use against Physician Yoo. With that, he always physically and verbally releases his anger on Chil-sung.
In spite of that, Chil-sung continues to secretly monitor the Gyesoo Family. His guilt then gradually grows since the Gyesoo Family always treats him as part of their family.
“I will do what I can to control it, but neither you nor Se-yeob should do anything to give them cause or reason.”
Thinking that they succeed in stopping District Governor Ahn, Physician Gye received a letter from the King about a petition to annul Physician Yoo’s records. This message warns them about what they should and should not do.
At first, Physician Gye was hesitant to tell the Gyesoo Family about District Governor Ahn’s plan. He then decides to tell it to Lady Eun-woo first as she was the first one to notice the letter Physician Gye tried to hide.
Physician Gye explains to her what will happen if Physician Yoo’s title and records will be annulled. This automatically made Lady Eun-woo blame herself and made her decide to ignore Physician Yoo.
On the other hand, Physician Gye recommends Physician Yoo distance himself from Lady Eun-woo. As long as he and Lady Eun-woo are seen close to each other, this can be an eyesore, especially to District Governor Ahn.
“How about I suggest an irresistible deal? The memorandum you wrote. What do you say to burning both that memorandum and these letters?”
Still not getting the evidence he wanted from what Chil-sung reports, District Governor Ahn abruptly went to Gyesoo Clinic to investigate. Immediately, one of his constables found Physician Yoo and Lady Seo’s letters when Lady Seo was at Heuksan Island.
District Governor Ahn threatens Physician Yoo that these letters can annul his records easily. However, Physician Gye negotiates with him, which benefit his situation more.
He was asked to burn the letter and in return, his contract, which shows his crimes, will also be burned. Without any second thoughts, District Governor Ahn accepted Physician Gye’s deal.
“Even if I were to lose everything, I cannot lose you.”
Anyhow, the District Governor is still persistent to find more evidence and hold the Gyesoo Family by their necks. Furthermore, he creates a ban on the whole Sorak Village, especially, to confine Physician Yoo and Lady Seo.
The ban states that women and children cannot go out after 4 pm. If they wish to go out, it should be issued by the government office.
Additionally, widows are banned from doing anything other than sewing or weaving. Female physicians, like Lady Eun-woo, are also prohibited from visiting patients.
At first, the Gyesoo Clinic obeyed the ban even though it was against their will. Due to the ban, patients who need emergency treatment, especially women and children, can’t visit Gyesoo Clinic.
However, Lady Eun-woo decides to violate the ban as a child went to visit them saying that her mother is having a hard time laboring. Since Physician Gye and Yoo have other errands, Lady Eun-woo bravely goes to their patient and helped her deliver her child.
As soon as Physician Yoo learned about this, he immediately goes after Lady Seo and disregards the threats from the District Governor. As expected, thugs patroling around the village see them injuring Physician Yoo as he protects Lady Seo.
Luckily, Physician Yoo drove them away without lifting a finger. On the other hand, Lady Seo’s guilt grew more as Physician Yoo’s life was once again threatened because of her.
With that, she decides to leave Sorak Village to protect the Gyesoo Family and Physician Yoo.
Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2 Episode 7 Musings
Overhearing the conversation between Inspector Jeon and District Governor Ahn can give an upper hand on Physician Gye’s next moves. Learning that the petition was all planned and that the two are working together, can backfire on them once it reaches the King.
However, it seems that Physician Gye still doesn’t want to reveal what he knows but wants to intimidate Inspector Jeon. The original plan of the two only targeted Physician Yoo, but District Governor Ahn decided to also target Lady Eun-woo.
Now that it cannot be reversed, Inspector Jeon suggested that District Governor Ahn should reveal more scandalous rumors about the two. If Physician Gye also heard about this, let’s hope that the Gyesoo Family will find a way to prevent this from happening.
Moreover, as Lady Seo left, will Physician Yoo be able to stop her and persuade her to stay? If so, will they now bravely face the threats and fight for their love?
