Sell Your Haunted House Episodes 3 & 4 Key Moments
Daebak Real Estate’s New Debonair Co-CEO
Initially refusing In-bum’s offer to work as a psychic at her real estate company, Ji-ah’s manager and friend enlightened her inhibitions and relents to her request. To appease his clingy friend, In-bum explained how he needs to delve into his uncle’s relationship with Ji-ah’s mom.
In-bum seals the contract with his plus-one Chief Ho, but before he could do so, Ji-a and Secretary Joo confirmed his purity is intact as it is needed in the job.
Chief Ho continues on stalking Britium Art Museum’s CEO Lee but failed to execute the staged scare to the CEO. Meanwhile, Ji-a brings In-bum with her to check on a building as her specialized heat pack.
Moving to his plan, In-bum breaks in Ji-a’s place to get information about his uncle’s death while Chief Ho tails Ji-a. But he was not successful because of Ji-a’s mom’s interference which he is not aware of.
Lending their skills to the mission targeted by Daebak Real Estate, they learned about a renowned painter sponsored by Britium Art Museum who has been using a ghost painter. That same painter has been haunting the museum which caused a negative reputation in the market.
When In-bum and Chief Ho visited the artist, he pleads for them to vanquish the unrested spirit. However, without proper knowledge, and without his protection necklace, In-bum was possessed by the spirit.
Luckily, Ji-a arrives at the fake painter’s house and rescues In-bum whom she deduced was exploiting the partnership. Realizing his psychic ability has been there since he was young without him fully aware of it, he is finally convinced of his special ability.
It gives a nagging feeling on him though because his possessed form even scared Chief Ho and he remembered all those times waking up with bloody hands without memories of what happened.
Quelling The Unrested Ghost Painter
Putting an end to Britium Art Museum’s ghost, Ji-a and In-bum set forth to their mission. At the last minute though, In-bum felt overwhelmed about his fear of the new-found ability. So, Ji-a forces her way to complete the exorcism.
Later, she tells In-bum how she usually gets the memories of the spirits vanquished. But with him being the psychic, he strangely absorbs it. She also tells him of the side-effects of adopting the habits of the spirits and keeping their memories as well.
After a quick chimaek celebration, Ji-a stumbles on her mom’s spirit and goes into a trance. Reminded of her mom’s death, she cries while repeatedly apologizing to her.
The next day, In-bum pesters Ji-a to help him with the habit he picked up from the ghost painter. Ji-a learns of the ghost painter’s sick wife who needs a surgery.
Proposing to pull a con so they can raise money to help the painter’s wife, Ji-a refuses to cooperate because of the contract in place for selling the museum.
Extra Service From The Exorcist & Psychic
Daebak Real Estate mediates in the selling of Britium Art Museum. Uncharacteristically, Ji-a mentioned the ghost artist’s wife’s situation to CEO Lee but did not get a favorable response.
While In-bum struggles in the aftermath of his being emotional because of the ghost painter, an idea strikes him when he wakes up picking up the creative skill of the artist.
At an event hosted by CEO Lee, she unveiled the sad story of the ghost painter, Kim Byung-ho. It also exposes the fake identity of the celebrated painter Cho Hyun-seo who was also present at the event.
It was also revealed how Cho Hyun-seo accidentally killed him when he learned Byung-ho’s terminal lung cancer. He also stole the remaining artworks and destroy the video recordings validating his wrongdoings.
CEO Lee decides to give all the paintings to Byung-ho’s wife. In-bum’s con artist gene kicked up and tries to sell the painting, but finds a note telling him that the painting is for Byung-ho’s deceased wife. In the end, he ends up giving the painting meant to be Byung-ho’s last gift to his wife.
“When we die, let’s not wish to become an unrested spirit.”
Celebrating their small victory, the con artists and the realtors convene to a quick party. Ji-a also agrees to extend In-bum’s contract for a month.
For their next venture, they are up against a haunted apartment involving a construction company that has been involved in the redevelopment plan at Ji-a’s neighborhood. The same shady business is also hunting In-bum and Chief Ho.
Captured by the thugs demanding what In-bum owes, the two were saved by Ji-a who was about to eat at the restaurant where the two temporarily stay. Having a traumatic experience from Ji-a’s haunted house-office, the thugs meet a roadblock.
Just then, the boss of the thugs arrives and in his entourage, Ji-a sees a familiar ghost.
Sell Your Haunted House Episodes 3 & 4 Musings
Amidst the ghost-expelling adventures of Ji-a and In-bum, I like how the story keeps us asking for more supernatural details involving Ji-a and In-bum’s past. Sporting a relatively small cast, it also helps us digest the narrative along with its episode featured stories.
The strong female lead character dominating our adorable male lead is also made more engrossing by their constant bickering. Sell Your Haunted House picked the perfect actors who can suit up to the yin and yang personalities of the main characters.
It’s really hard not to be amazed at how Jang Nara keeps getting younger and always commits to portraying distinct characters. Her no-nonsense attitude would go far in this series. But of course, we still want to see her warming up. After all, her decade-long experience of giving proper closures to spirits is a noble act both in real and paranormal worlds.
Interestingly, this drama albeit strongly leaning on the humor side through In-bum’s character is making us anticipate how Jung Yong Hwa will work on the emotional weight of his character’s perspective.
I still have the same question since the opening week. I don’t think it will be answered yet and that’s definitely fine with me. For now, I am enjoying the chapter stories as well as the relationship development that could happen between our peerless exorcist and amusing psychic.
This week’s episodes shed light on the sad situation about low-profile artists often robbed of their creative merits by a more prominent artist. Discussing social issue and blending it into the drama’s tone is quite an impressive feat. We can definitely look forward to what other lessons we can learn from in the coming episodes.
