Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 Episode 8 Highlights

Something strange has been happening in the lives of indigenous deities in Gyeongseong. They raise their concern to Taluipa but they end up being helped by Hong-joo and Lee Yeon.

Moo-young prepares for his goal to resurrect his brother against the advice of Grandpa Hyun. It appears he is close with him as the latter accompanied him during the times he lived as a stone.

Determined to his goal, he moves to retrieve the golden ruler and guardian stone which are under the care of Lee Yeon.

Proceeding with his plan of converting the gods they captured to a “new” kind of empire weapon, General Kato summoned the Shinagami Merceneries. Their mission is to bring as many demon heads as they can.

“Lord Lee Yeon is gambling with his life span!”

Lee Rang has been in detached mode since learning his future fate of dying for his brother. Even Yeo-hee’s warmth can’t calm the unsettling feeling.

When he learns of Dokgakgwi, a god with whom he can gamble to increase his life span, he wages his living years but failed abysmally. Learning about his brother’s dying plight, he realized Rang knew of his future death.

He goes to see Dokgakgwi and bets his lifespan. He figures out how the demon has been cheating and invalidates the previous bets they had. Playing fair and square, Lee Yeon folded to Dokgakgwi’s bluffs.

However, time is almost running out for his younger brother so he stakes everything he has and wins the game. It turns out that he uses the same card-hiding trick the demon used before in winning the game. Lee Yeon was able to retrieve his brother’s and the indigenous gods’ lifespan.

Later, he comes clean to his brother and show Rang’s video to patch things up and prove that he always means well and cares for him.

Eun-ho meets her fellow independence fighter members to alarm about General Kato’s movement. At the same time, the cruel Japanese general also tells Eun-ho’s father his desire to marry his sister-in-law and uses her secret life of supporting the independence fighters as leverage.

The Shinagami Mercenaries also proceed with their mission to which the Lee brothers caught on. All set to leave in the year 1938, Lee Yeon decides to help first the tumultuous Gyeongseong situation.
