The First Responders Episodes 6 and 7 Highlights
Taewon firefighters are summoned to a container diner warehouse. After subduing the fire, they find a human leading to a murder case that falls inevitably on Ho-gae’s radar.
The result of the autopsy indicated asphyxiation was the cause of death, and arson subsequently happened after the murder.
“Isn’t it unfair to investigate the scene of the crime you committed?”
Albeit the burnt premise of the crime scene, Ho-gae and the detective team find pieces of evidence to track the culprit.
Strangely, the finger and footprints match with Ho-gae and so is the DNA test sent to NFS. What’s more, is a piece of video evidence captured by a truck dashboard showing Ho-gae within the vicinity of the crime scene.
With all evidence pointing to Ho-gae, an arrest warrant is issued. Going to the detention center where most of the jailbirds credit their stay because of him leads to him being stabbed.
En route to the emergency room, he musters his strength and escapes the ambulance. Tipping Seol through the young man he saved of his location, he also unearths the true owner of the shoe print. They also work on finding the shoeprint that can help the case.
Turning himself in, he also takes the man with him to the police station.
“We should chase after the tail first. Then we can go for the head.”
Ma Tae-hwa’s plan to bring Ho-gae down didn’t materialize as pieces of evidence emerged to prove that Ho-gae’s DNA was set up on the crime scene.
Receiving tofu as proof of care from people who worry about him, Ho-gae is pumped to lead the case. However, the clue related to the medical waste disposal company tracked by Pil is a dead end.
Thanks to Yoon Hong’s assessment of the two types of string found at the crime scene, Ho-gae picks up an idea. But he needs Taewon firefighters to investigate.
Heading to the team’s headquarters with NFS’s Hong and Pil, they found them doing a simulation of how the victim got burned. While doing so, Ho-gae does his own using strings to test his theory.
True enough, he had a eureka moment in which Do-jin caught on. Apparently, the victim hung himself and also set up the fire. There was no murder involved.
“He’s the smartest one here, after me.”
Delving into the reality of why he was framed, Ho-gae needs junkie Seok-doo that could attest that Ma Tae-hwa is the real culprit. The smart villain also moves to cover his tracks and silence the junkie.
Thankfully, Ho-gae and Pil arrived in time to give Seok-doo another leash of life. He also came clean that he was used as an alibi. Ergo, an immediate arrest warrant gets issued for Ma Tae-hwa.
Sensing a helicopter approaching, Ho-gae figures the villain is planning to escape. Picking up the skills of his firefighter friends, he uses the nearby water source to thwart the helicopter and also subdues Tae-hwa and his secretary.
“Wake up if you want your life’s worth!”
With his old wound opening, Ho-gae struggles to cuff Tae-hwa and the latter takes advantage by hurting his wound more.
While tussling, the fire hose that Ho-gae used looped around his neck while Tae-hwa gets thrown, hanging for his dear life through his cuffed arm connected to Ho-gae.
The police soon rescue them both but Ho-gae had a cardiac arrest and Seol worriedly tries to bring him back to life.
On the brink of death, Seol’s earnest plea and relentless reviving pushed Ho-gae to hold on to life. After the operation though, he remains unconscious due to a prior cardiac arrest he suffered.
Pressed with time, Pil and Anna try to look for evidence to pin Ma Tae-hwa to his crime.
