The Law Cafe Episode 11 Highlights
“I wouldn’t say it’s a deal. We’re giving you a chance.”
Having her late mother’s shares, Lee Yeon-ju takes part in the shareholders’ meeting in Dohan while being accompanied by Jung-ho and Yu-ri.
Together with the rest of the team in the law cafe, they compute the shares needed to overturn the decision to dismiss Chairman Lee.
With the tip they extracted from Mr. Hwang after cornering him, Jung-ho and Yu-ri visit CEO Kwak of Gadong Pharmaceuticals while golfing. They persuade the CEO to become allies with them instead since there are a lot of risks in siding with President Lee.
Provoking his uncle in the meeting, Jung-ho reminds President Lee that he is his target not necessarily the Dohan group.
Chairman Lee follows his daughter and Jung-ho in stepping down from his position. After overthrowing the decision to dismiss him, Chairman Lee announces that Dohan group will be hiring a management specialist instead of adhering to family succession.
Yu-ri drives her car toward President Lee who is frustrated with the results, and scares him over similar to how she was recently run over by a car.
“I’ll wait a year, two years, and so on. So, take your time. Come to me when you can.”
Sharing a meal together after their success, Se-yeon and Jin-gi ask Yu-ri how long she will make Jung-ho wait. While walking home together, Yu-ri then asks Jung-ho when he started liking her.
He then nonchalantly answers that it was after being confessed to. At Yu-ri’s house, Jung-ho reassures Yu-ri that he could wait for her. In reply to that, Yu-ri tells Jung-ho he doesn’t have to wait long.
Though against Jung-ho’s ideals, Yu-ri takes on the inheritance case and visits Hee-yeon at the funeral. She shows the paper her father handed her before dying, and the team decodes it.
Computing the poets’ years of death, they sneak into the house to try it in the safe. Finding one more poet included, Jung-ho, Yu-ri, and Woo-jin open the safe with a five-digit code.
They become confused with the soil they found inside, and escape as the security team begins searching the house.
In the soil, Hee-yeon finds another note with lines from a poem. Joon feels disappointed for not finding money, but Hee-yeon feels appeased that her father also thought of her.
“Your debts and assets aren’t the only things you leave behind when you die.”
Tracking the junkyard where the car that hit Yu-ri was crushed, Jung-ho and Mr. Gil obtain the security camera footage that night and see a man with a tattoo.
Yu-ri reads the note found on the soil, and searches it on the internet. Decoding it as a flower field and gift, she along with Hee-yeon and the team drive to the field left by her father.
Initially thinking it was an abandoned field, Hee-yeon appreciates the beauty of the field and sees their old helper who gives her the briefcase her father left for her when she comes.
Opening the heavy case with the same code as the safe, Hee-yeon and the team sees bars of gold.
Amazed by the worth of gold, Jung-ho computes the inheritance tax, and they debate on keeping their silence on the possibility it was illegally acquired.
Meanwhile, left in the cafe, Eun-gang feels flustered while serving Song-hwa with her daughter buying freshly roasted coffee beans.
“I like you. Since the very beginning. No one but you.”
Hee-yeon discovers a video of her father leaving his will, stating that the video is the only legal will since his sons coerced him into the written one.
Generous despite being maltreated, Hee-yeon decides to fairly split their inheritance into equal parts. While her brothers are protesting about it, Yu-ri silences them.
Resolving her inheritance case, Hee-yeon informs Yu-ri that she will be reporting the gold bars left by her father and paying taxes. As a payment to Yu-ri, she hands her a golden toad.
In a book Jung-ho is reading, Yu-ri sees the bookmark she made years ago, and recalls that time while they were passing by the exact location of Jung-ho’s building at present. She rushes out to meet Jung-ho who stepped out to accompany his mother back to her house.
Mr. Gil traces back the culprit with a tattoo, and they found out the man has murdered a person in Dohan construction in the past.
Threatened by the trace left by the man, President Lee puts matters in his hands and stabs the man. He then walks out feeling easy.
Jung-ho worries about Yu-ri going out alone after provoking President Lee. However, she demands that Jung-ho stop lying about his feelings. Finally honest with his feelings, the two kiss and share the night together.
The Law Cafe Episode 11 Musings
It’s really heartbreaking to have internal strife within the family especially when it involves someone, you’d want to have a future with.
Jung-ho’s longtime feelings for Yu-ri are confirmed in this episode, and he has been showing it ever since by supporting Yu-ri in her cases despite it being against his ideals.
For Hee-yeon who resolves her issue on inheritance, her integrity is admirable since the worth of the gold bars left to her was unimaginable, exemplified by Joon and Yu-ri’s reactions.
Seeing him stab the man at the near end of the episode, Lee Pyun-woong shows more of his evil side. Though he was set to be an antagonist at the beginning, his character who only looked harmlessly goofy at the beginning starts to show his dark nature.
The flower field topped with the sweet confession at the end uplifted this episode. As Jung-ho and Yu-ri’s relationship begins, foreseeable life-threatening situations await them after provoking President Lee.
