Surprising revelations make the guessing game of the real heir to the throne complicated in the 4th week of The Secret Romantic Guesthouse.
While romance highlights blossom in the story, the King’s mercurial wrath continuously leads to merciless deaths of people in the country.

Master Jang and his men corner Dan-oh at the temple. A masked man, the enemies presumed to be The Watchman, but in reality, San arrives to give time for Dan-oh and her family to escape.
Just when San is running out of luck, another masked man with extraordinary fighting skills appears and subdues the enemies.
Still bent to capture Dan-oh, Master Jang orders his men to look for her. In the meantime, she works at a tavern while staying at a nearby humble place.
“People of Mokinhoe will clear your path to the throne. I urge you to serve the noble cause.”
Hwaryung meets Yu-ha to present a letter left by his birth father. She also initiates a meeting with Lord Shin who wants him to bring the change he aspires for.
Over at the Palace, the Queen Dowager’s secret funding of Mokinhoe was brought up by Consort Park to the King.
Dan-oh receives an ornate lid which completes the compass she received from Lee Seol when they were young.
When she was tracked by Master Jang’s men, she was brought in for questioning. Using his fortune, Yu-ha brought back Ihwawon along with Dan-oh’s freedom.
Allowing the agreement, Master Jang marks Dan-oh knowing Lee Seol owed his life to her.
Returning to Ihwawon, San’s jealousy faintly escalates as Yu-ha continues to take care of Dan-oh.
While in town, Dan-oh and her favorite orabeonis witness members of Mokinhoe being slayed mercilessly.
Thinking about his conversation with Lord Shin who revealed the new son of the king is not of royal blood, Yu-ha contemplates the choice given to him for a noble cause.
“I heard it was you who hung the sign outside.”
Meanwhile, Si-yeol who is drawn to Hong-joo, apparently met with her dead ex-boyfriend at some point in the past. He also tries to be closer to her despite being constantly ignored.
Lee Seol’s eunuch had separate conversations with Lord Shin and Queen Dowager. Both are trying to lure him to their side and intention to help the deposed heir.
On the state examination day, the scholars were sent off by Dan-oh and Na-ju. San left earlier and was already proceeding with his military test.
He emerged victorious and was granted a wish by the King. He responds by wanting to be his private protector and then went home to Ihwawon where Dan-oh waits for him.
From their previous private talk about Dan-oh meeting Lee Seol when they were young, she discovers cute drawings in the book he was reading.
The drawing ultimately reveals that particular moment when she met young Lee Seol for the first time. Confronting Kang San about her discovery, he admitted to her deduction that indeed, he is Lee Seol.
The Secret Romantic Guesthouse Episodes 7 and 8 Musings
We don’t know how far The Secret Romantic Guesthouse will take the guessing game to the identity of the real Lee Seol. At this point, we can even assume that Dan-oh’s three orabeonis know each other and are all on a secret mission.
It is possible that Lee Seol’s team also purposely prepared decoys to protect him.
Facing formidable villains, the series is shaping up to Lee Seol versus the King showdown. With all the tension arising due to the political struggles, we can’t properly process the romantic emotions being inserted in the series.
The budding affection between Si-yeol and Hong-joo is at least heading in a concrete direction. Although, there’s an inkling that Si-yeol’s encounter with Hong-joo’s old lover might not be on the pleasant side.
However, Dan-oh’s pictured love triangle romance is a different story, especially now that Kang San and Yu-ha both claim to be Lee Seol. Both also harbor adoration for her.
Another pressing concern is how smart and cunning the villains are in the story. Master Jang’s obsession with The Watchman led him to mark Dan-oh, which is quite the right path in the pursuit he’s aiming for. Conniving with Consort Park who impels the King to contradict even the Queen Dowager; a looming chaos in the palace is expected.
