Cheer Up Episode 15 Highlights

“My presence next to you may be of help to you instead of trouble. Let’s take time and see how it goes. If you still want to break up, I’ll give up then.”

Hae-yi’s fear comes true as reality charges her for all the happy days she’s been experiencing lately. Since knowing about his mother’s condition, Hae-yi was always preoccupied during training.

On the day of Hae-yi and Jung-woo’s first monthsary, Jung-woo surprises Hae-yi at Cheers with a bouquet. However, Hae-yi doesn’t how to properly react but tries to smile.

Furthermore, Jung-woo took her to a restaurant to celebrate. Hae-yi was anxious about the price of the food but offered to pay for their meal.

As Hae-yi realizes that she needs to earn money and won’t be able to also give back to Jung-woo, she decided to break up with him. In addition, she also left Theia and took a break from school.

On the following day, Jung-woo approaches her and explained that he doesn’t want to end their relationship but pauses for a while. Even though Hae-yi doesn’t give him a definite response, Jung-woo continues to take care of and support her in the simplest ways.

“Life has taught me that you can never be calculative about how much to give and how much to take. It’s okay to take without giving, Hae-yi. Just be grateful.”

Hae-yi’s absence in Theia becomes prominent without her high and positive spirit cheering up other members. Even though she left, they continue to prepare for the Honkyung-Yonhee Rivalry while Hae-yi can only look at them from afar.

In a heart-to-heart conversation with Sun-ja, Hae-yi, who always has a positive outlook, expresses that she is struggling. Even though she tries to look at the brighter side, the weight of being the eldest child weighs her down.

Since Hae-yi needs to work harder, she has a night shift at Cheer, where coincidentally, the Theia One-Day Bar activity was being held. The event aims to garner funds for Theia being that the recent incidents need them to provide financial compensation.

During Hae-yi’s shift, reality once again hits her. As she sees her friends enjoying and drinking without thinking of any problem. These emotions then shifted as Sun-ja called her to bring tissue to the comfort room and she returned with a surprise from Theia.

The members played a video message from them to comfort and give strength to Hae-yi. Furthermore, they gave the money that Theia earned from the One-Day Bar to help Hae-yi with financial problems.

“You caused all of this. You must die to end this.”

After the surprise, Jung-woo, again, approached Hae-yi asking her to let him be with her. Jung-woo finally made her realize that she won’t be alone and that breaking up won’t be the solution.

With that, Hae-yi agreed to get back together and face her problems with Jung-woo. Not long after their heartwarming moment, Theia members immediately panic as Hae-yi was nowhere to be seen.

They have been cautious ever since Soo-il contacted Jung-woo and exposed Jin-il to be the perpetrator. Knowing that Jin-il is on the loose, they quickly look out for Hae-yi.

On the other, Hae-yi went to a convenience store to buy ice cream. To her surprise, Jin-il appeared out of nowhere and attacked her. She was able to escape but struggled to fight after Jin-il caught up with her.

He pointed a knife at her and continue to say that everything was Hae-yi fault. As Jin-il was about to stab her, Jung-woo appeared and stopped the knife with his hand.

However, Jin-il did not stop but decided to stab Jung-woo instead.

Cheer Up Episode 15 Musings

Teaching viewers the true meaning of giving and receiving, Theia members and Hae-yi proved that giving should not be done with expectations of giving back. Also, it breaks stereotypes about the debt of gratitude that has been instilled in today’s youth.

Hae-yi is known to be always paying her debts and she was worried to give in return for the gifts she received from Jung-woo and help from Theia. It’s heartwarming to see people like the members of Theia, who helped Hae-yi with sincerity to help and not because of pity.

They know that a strong person like Hae-yi doesn’t need to be pitied but needs to be morally strengthened. Surely, after Hae-yi helped to treat her mother, Theia will welcome her back with arms wide open.

It’s good to see that Soo-il survived Jin-il’s attack and he immediately contacted Jung-woo as soon as he woke up. Even though we saw that Jin-il still has a conscience when he did not turn off Soo-il’s heart rate monitor, he has no second doubts about hurting Hae-yi.

It is also clear that he is mentally ill and his motives have something to do with Yoo-min. Since he did not succeed to make Yoo-min his, maybe he let out his frustrations to Hae-yi since she has a similarity to Yoo-min.
