The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract Episodes 5 and 6 Highlights

“Just remember one thing. I do admit that you could be from Joseon, after all. But I can’t believe you 100 percent because there isn’t enough evidence.”

Though he brushes off the flashes of memory from his Joseon past life as hallucinations, Tae-ha does some sleuthing into Yeon-woo’s claims. And, albeit unbelievable, every word she has said turns out to be true. So, for now, let’s say this woman is Lady Park Yeon-woo from Joseon.

“That won’t do. Use that girl, Yeon-woo, to raise the stakes.”

Meanwhile, the nasty stepmother reveals her fangs. Initially, Tae-ha proposed a joint exhibition with hanbok fashion brand “Midam” for the first anniversary. But Hye-sook gets in his way. And not willing to be caught in the middle of this succession battle, Midam’s CEO backs out of the deal.

Next on Hye-sook’s agenda is making Tae-ha’s marriage public. Hence, getting everyone curious about his wife’s identity. The last blow is getting the tabloids to spread whatever rumors about Yeon-woo’s identity and revealing her face.

“It is an embroidery work from my mother’s family, and it is about 200 years old.”

Reports swarm into the company and huddle around Yeon-woo. Good thing she was there, though. Also happening to be there that day is Lee Mi-dam, Midam’s CEO, who looks like the spitting image of Yeon-woo’s mother. And spotting the embroidery Yeon-woo stitched on Tae-ha’s shirt, Mi-dam becomes intrigued about her.

To get on board, Mi-dam has one condition: having Yeon-woo join the project as a guest designer. Yeon-woo’s embroidery is identical to the work of Mi-dam’s family line, making her eager to learn more about Yeon-woo.

“What? Why are they so close to each other?”

Though a bit hesitant at first, Yeon-woo takes on the offer. She looks fabulous on her first day at work, catching the eye of everyone. And soon, we have a jealous-looking Tae-ha whenever he spots Yeon-woo getting close to another man.

It is a hilarious sequence where Tae-ha ropes himself into attending a team dinner, unlike his usual self. His jealousy goes out of the roof when someone comments about how Yeon-woo and another man make a lovely couple. Finally, he gets nervous and calls it a night when Yeon-woo mentions the thing she always does when drunk, which Tae-ha is relieved is head-butting, not kissing.

“This knot here symbolizes me and all of us. I believe that in life the connections we make with others become intertwined and form a big knot.”

While Tae-ha shifts to denial mode, Tae-min has no problem showing his interest in Yeon-woo openly. He helps her conduct market research to get some ideas for her designs and stands up to Hye-sook when she harasses Yeon-woo.

Yeon-woo’s hard work pays off, and she earns the praise of everyone with her designs. Better yet, her idea of knots symbolizing the cherished ties connecting people is chosen as the central theme for the exhibition. Tae-ha looks at Yeon-woo with proud eyes and says the exact words Joseon Tae-ha used to tell her to encourage her.

“Yeon-woo? Are you alright? Are you hurt?”

During the briefing for the exhibition, Tae-ha introduces Yeon-woo as his wife before everyone. The catch? Stopping Hye-sook from openly hurting her. But naïve Tae-ha is no match for evil-minded Hye-sook, who retaliates by giving Tae-ha the worst pain ever. She has Yeon-woo escorted to the annex, where Tae-ha’s late mother died before his eyes.

Though he couldn’t take a step into this place for years, Tae-ha musters every tiny bit of courage to go inside and get Yeon-woo. He makes it through but collapses on the floor, having breathing difficulties. Yeon-woo rushes over to his side. And spotting the surgery scar on his chest, Yeon-woo confirms her suspicions. This man is indeed the reincarnation of her dead husband.

The Story Of Park’s Marriage Contract Episodes 5 and 6 Musings

Earlier, noticing how the parts her dead husband’s blood touched turned black, Yeon-woo had her silver accessory inspected. And as expected, it was due to poison. Which makes me suspect the same thing is happening to Tae-ha again. And for sure, we all know who is behind it.

Everything is repeating itself. And now, our leads have to put their heads together to make it out alive.

While our leads have a lot to figure out, there is someone who seems to know more than he lets on, Tae-ha’s grandfather. Not only does he have the painting of young Yeon-woo (Someone tried to burn the painting, yet grandpa got it restored.) but also Yeon-woo’s watch, the keepsake from her grandfather she always held onto but dropped as she fell into the well.

Likewise, his determination to keep Yeon-woo hidden piques my curiosity. What on earth is he hiding?
