Promising to add another delightful sageuk, The Forbidden Marriage explores the marriage ban ordered by King Yi Heon when he lost the crown princess seven years ago.
Based on a novel of the same name, the series follows the story of So-rang (Park Ju Hyun) who unexpectedly enters the palace. Together with Lee Heon (Kim Young Dae) and Lee Shin-won (Kim Woo Seok); they became inseparable, heightening curiosity as to why they got intertwined.

In the drama, Kim Young Dae and Kim Woo Seok meet as King Lee Heon and Lee Shin-won and work together on various tasks and adventures.
Unveiling featured photos of the two, Lee Heon is shown with the dignified and gentle charisma of a monarch. Meanwhile, Lee Shin-won stares somewhere with a serious expression evoking his alertness to situations.
Then, another photo displays the two sitting and crouching together which can cause a happy smile just by looking at them.
Notably, the bromance chemistry is expected along with the friendship that goes beyond the relationship between a king and his right-hand man.
The production team further elaborates on the relationship between them.
