Yumi’s Cells 2 Quick Plot Recap (Spoiler’s Alert)
After ending her relationship with Gu-woong, Yumi focused on herself more and her career. She aspires to be a writer and publish her book. Entering different contests, Yumi was defeated several times, which made her heart discouraged.
However, she always reminds herself to stand and keep going. Since life is full of unpredictability, Bobby starts liking her and giving hints that he likes Yumi. Deep inside, Yumi doesn’t want to enter into a relationship again.
As time goes by, Yumi also fell into Bobby’s pure and genuine heart. Yumi felt revived and happy again after a long time. The two go out on dates and never hesitated to show their affectionate feelings to each other.
The plot twist happened when Yumi is selling her rice cooker to gain an extra income. Yumi has no idea that the buyer of her rice cooker is her ex-boyfriend, Gu-woong. Following the breakup, they met again and he found out that Yumi is already in a relationship.
Thereafter, the conflict also came between Bobby and Yumi. Yumi decided to visit Bobby on Jeju Island (because that’s the place where Bobby was assigned). An intern from Bobby’s company makes Yumi uneasy. She’s beautiful, smart, and young. Her presence makes Yumi anxious because she keeps thinking that maybe there is something going on between the intern and Bobby.
As Yumi’s new love story unfolds, she faces challenges that test how far she will go to keep the man she loves. She also needs to choose between her past and present love.
Yumi’s Cells 2 Highlights (Spoiler’s Alert)
New Found Love
In the second season of Yumi’s Cells, love hasn’t closed its door for Yumi because Bobby stepped into the entrance. After her relationship with Gu-woong, Yumi tried her best to forget him.
She tried buying a lot of things even though she doesn’t need them and even putting into the trash all the things that Gu-woong gave her. Moving on with someone whom you loved genuinely is not an easy task to do, and we know that some of us may even relate to Yumi.
However, this doesn’t last long because Bobby came into Yumi’s life. Entering into another relationship, Yumi seems hesitant at first because she thinks that the pain may repeat. Yumi’s decision to date Bobby makes her very happy and vibrant.
On the other hand, just like any typical relationship, Yumi’s instinct to the girl intern is making her uncomfortable. Later on, the intern confesses her feelings to Bobby. For a while, Bobby felt something inside his heart after the intern’s confession.
On Christmas Eve, the intern talked to Yumi, and she said that she had already confessed her feelings to Bobby. On that same night, when Bobby got home, Yumi is nowhere to be found. He found Yumi in a coffee shop with her luggage.
Yumi knew that Bobby got swayed by that intern. In a snap, Yumi ended their relationship because she can’t accept the fact that Bobby got swayed easily.
The Lost Love
Meanwhile, when Yumi got back to Seoul, he coincidentally got connected to Gu-woong again. This time, he already owns his company and is very successful. He knows that he still loves Yumi and he even tried several times to date her again.
However, on the side of Yumi, she knows that she still loves Bobby. That’s why when Bobby got assigned to Seoul, the two met again. They both admit that they still miss and love each other. At the end of the day, the two got back together again.
Conflicts keep rising because Bobby informs Yumi that he will go to the US for a business trip. However, Yumi found out that Bobby isn’t out of the country and thought that he lied to her again. When in fact, Bobby got into an accident on his way to the airport. After the exchange of emotional lines, Bobby asks Yumi one important question “Should we get married”
Loving Thyself
In the last two episodes, Gu-woong was informed that Yumi is now engaged. His heart still breaks, but he accepts it because he knows that Yumi is happy.
Yumi also met Bobby’s father and they get along well. However, one day, Yumi saw Bobby’s phone ringing and the girl intern is calling him again. Bobby grabs the phone and deletes the number of the intern.
We know that we expected that Yumi and Bobby will get married. However, eight months passed, and there are no hints that Bobby and Yumi got married. Gu-woong was also shocked that the wedding invitation that he got isn’t from Yumi.
Yumi’s Cells 2 Series Musings
We know that the drama plays us all because there are instances when we thought that Yumi will finally find her true love. Especially the part where Bobby proposes.
However, Yumi’s story brought us to the harsh reality of finding the love of our lives in a world full of uncertainties. Maybe it’s a lesson for everyone that we don’t know what the future holds that’s why we should be careful with our decisions each day.
We’re still going to hope that someday, Yumi will finally find her last. Someone that can remove all of her anxieties, and doubts. Someone that can make her feel that she’s the only one. We can’t blame Yumi for having her own standards because nothing beats a woman’s love for herself.
