The Korean Film Council affirmed that Escape From Mogadishu topped at the box office on the first day of its release.
Acquiring an audience of 136,741 on the 28th, the film seizes the highest opening record among Korean films that were released this year.
Ranking second is Boss Baby: Family Business with 34,236 admissions, and on the third spot is Black Widow sealing a 28,874 audience.
Directed by Ryu Seung Wan, Escape From Mogadishu narrates the stories of civilians that need to survive during the Somali Civil War in 1991.
Escape From Mogadishu‘s Historical Plot
The film depicts the struggles and desperate escape of the characters during the war. The film may be a bit sensitive however this would inform the audiences of the dilemma that these civilians have.
