“The 8th Night” Drops Eerie Teasers Featuring Lee Sung Min, Kim Yoo Jung, Park Hae Joon & Nam Da Reum

Mystery thriller The 8th Night released chilling teaser photos and film trailer.

Netflix announces The 8th Night releases on July 2 that supposedly premiered in 2020. Directed and written by Kim Tae Hyung, a rookie director, the five senses of the film are stimulated in the unveiled teasers.

The streaming giant recently posted a  thrilling teaser of the film. For over 190 countries, fans are “thrilled” to watch the movie on its premiere day. 

Starring Lee Sung Min, Park Hae Joon, Nam Da Reum, and Kim Yoo Jung, the story packs mystery, suspense, and bizarre horror. 

The film follows the story of the retired exorcist, Park Jin Su (Lee Sung Min). Two thousand years ago, two mysterious beings were locked up to prevent harm to humans. Years later, the protector of one of the caskets, monk Ha Jeong (Lee Eol), realizes it awakens. Ha Jeong and the other monk, Cheong Seok (Nam Da Reum), seek Park Jin Su to track and stop these beings from havoc.

Accordingly, the teaser poster of the film piques interest featuring Lee Sung Min. A large shadow forms on his back and a message is written that means, “Never open your eyes.”

In addition, the production team stated that “The film will feature occult, supernatural forces beyond anyone’s control. The harmony of actors and the sense of visuals will make the occult aspects of the film feel raw.”

Meet the diverse lead cast

Lee Sung Min portrays the “destined” exorcist Park Jin Su. He must protect the seal that is restraining “That Which Must Not Awaken.” His decorated film and drama portfolio includes Money Game, Memory, and Misaeng. 

Kim Yoo Jung adds intrigue to the mystery film as Ae Ran. She plays a girl with a secret who is intricately involved in the mystery of the stepping stones. Ever since The Chaser, she has been shedding her child star image and demonstrating mature acting skills through performances in Thread of Lies, The Moon Embracing The Sun and Love in the Moonlight.

Kim Yoo Jung

Transforming into a violent crimes detective Kim Ho Tae is actor Park Hae Joon. He investigates seven corpses that give the lead to the mysteries. Park Hae Joon made himself known in The World Of Married, Arthdal Chronicles, and Misaeng.

Lastly, another well-known child actor, Nam Da Reum (Start-Up, While You Were Sleeping, and Goblin), plays the young monk, Cheong Seok. He notifies Park Jin Su about the awakening of the beings and gives warmth to the film with his visuals.
