Furthermore, the said festival started in 2002 to shed light on Asian filmmakers. From that, diverse colors and genres have given deserved respect.

Spiritwalker became the second Korean film to win at the festival after The Villainess bagged the awards.

In addition, the executive director of the NYAFF, Samuel Jamier, shared his thoughts about the film.

He reveals, “Spiritwalker is a surprisingly perfect film that combines action and drama. The action in the movie not only melts well into the story but also shows its unique grammar in the genre just by the action.”

“It is innovative and original. In particular, from Jason Bourne-style’s intense fighting scenes to gruesome gun action and breathtaking car chasing. It only brings together the best scenes expected from contemporary action movies,” Samuel Jamier added.

Because of these elements, the director described the film as an “intense and overwhelming” art.

Moreover, Spiritwalker is recognized and invited at the Panorama Fantàstic section of the 53rd Sitges Film Festival.

Besides the said festivals, the film will take part at the Fantasy Film Fest in Germany and the Mayhem Film Festival in the U.K.

Starring Yoon Kye Sang, Park Yong Woo, and Im Ji Yeon, the film tells the unique story of Kang I An. Every twelve hours, he wakes up to a new body without losing his memories.
