Slated for a summer release, the thrilling chase and unpredictable story of The Childe unravels.
The Childe follows the story of Marco as he pursues his dream of becoming a boxer, encountering terrible villains along the way. Marco wanders around illegal stadiums in the Philippines, and people with different goals appear in front of him.
It is a new film directed by Park Hoon Jung, who previously directed The Witch: Part 1, The Subversion, and The New World.
Notably, it is drawing attention as the big screen debut of Kim Seon Ho, who received great love and support through his works including Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Start-Up and more.
Through The Childe, Kim Seon Ho turns into a nobleman showing a transformation opposite from his previous characters.
Revealed in the latest posters is a picture of the chaser and the one being chased. A boxer named Marco (Kang Tae Joo) became everyone’s target overnight. An unidentified pursuer called “the childe” makes Marco’s life a mess.
Nonchalantly, “the childe” aims a gun at a target, and the desperate figure of Marco running through a thick forest contrast with each other and arouses the interest. It foreshadows a fierce chase involving Marco.
In the trailer released, the same fierce chasing erupts as other characters are introduced to be after Marco. Kim Kang Woo and Go Ara command attention in a quick peek at their roles.
Lastly, the image of “the childe” with a meaningful smile saying: “Hello, friend, I said I’ll see you again soon, right?” stimulates curiosity about what kind of relationship they will have.
The Childe is ready to launch in Korean cinemas on June 21!
