Set to launch in Philippine cinemas on August 16, The Moon highlights the emotions of Sol Kyung Gu, Doh Kyung Soo and Kim Hee Ae in the released character posters.
In The Moon, Korea’s first manned mission to the moon ends in a tragic disaster when an explosion occurs on board. Seven years later, a second human spaceflight is launched successfully but a strong solar wind causes it to malfunction.
One astronaut Sun-woo (DOH) is left stranded in space. Facing another fatal catastrophe, the Naro Space Center turns to its former managing director Dr. Kim (SOL) to help bring Sun-woo back home safely.

In the released character posters, Jae-guk (Sol Kyung Gu), former head of the Naro Space Center, Korean space crew Seon-woo (Do Kyung Soo), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) main director Moon-young (Kim Hee Ae) are captured.
Accordingly, the posters convey the different emotions of the three characters in their respective positions. The first manned spaceship Woori, Korea’s first lunar exploration, encounters an unexpected solar wind and is in distress.
Left alone in the vast sea of space, Seon-woo desperately needs a helping hand from the Earth. Former space center director Jae-guk, who was in charge of Korea’s lunar exploration, asks NASA main director Moon-young for help to save Seon-woo, but it is unclear whether this request will be accepted.
The teaser posters stimulate curiosity by showing the helplessness of Sunwoo, who is isolated on the moon, and Jaeguk and Moon-young who are faced with the difficulties of saving him on Earth.
Opening in Philippine cinemas on August 16, The Moon is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
