Following the same setup last year, the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards will be broadcast on JTBC from 9PM on May 13.
It will be held without live audience taking into account the current limitation of the pandemic situation.
The Baeksang Arts Awards is the one and only comprehensive art awards ceremony that encompasses TV, film, and theater. With professionalism and fairness as the top priority, rigorous screening is conducted to select candidates.
Jury members for each category are commissioned with the recommendation of a group of experts representing TV, film, and theater. In order to refer to various voices in the industry, a preliminary survey of 40 industry expert evaluators is conducted prior to the selection of the final candidate.
Screening Guidelines
The screening targets for this TV category are at least four parts of content provided on terrestrial, cable, OTT, and web platforms from May 1, 2020 to April 11, 2021. However, works that were excluded due to last year’s candidate screening period were classified as subject of judging this year.
The film section also targets Korean feature films released in Korea at the same time. The director who made his debut as a feature film during the judging period falls under the New Director Award category. The criteria for nomination for the Rookie Award in both the TV and film categories are those with a certain amount of three main and supporting roles in each category, regardless of the year of their debut.
The theater category is also judged at the same time with acting awards and Baeksang Theater Award to be given.
Meanwhile, the official nominated artists/works for the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards will be released on the official website on April 12.
