Having preconceived thoughts about each other, the main leads of Oh My Ladylord officially begins living together. They might have not realized it yet, but they have let each other enter their system subconsciously.
Kang Min Hyuk officially introduces his character as Joo-in’s long-time friend, Jung Yu-jin. He is the son of a chaebol family with a cosmetic business whom she has been a brand endorser for five years.

Oh My Ladylord Episodes 03 & 04 Key Moments
“My intentions are to make the house look better. But I see your point.”
Starting their cohabitation contract, Joo-in walks to her house organized without her permission by Bi-soo. She obviously dislikes it, but he pleads for her to let it slide since everything is already in the storage room. His half-hearted apology does not at all help to appease the ladylord’s annoyance.
With Bi-soo’s fetish on having everything organized his gesture of laminating the sticky notes left by Joo-in on the fridge was noticed. He even went the extra mile to organize the food inside. However round 2 of their bickering happened when he sees her getting the food delivery carelessly.
He reminds her that he might have been seen outside and their cover might be revealed. Amidst his hungry tummy’s complaint, he refuses the takeout food she ordered for him and walks away.
“Life was better when I was living alone.”
Venting out to boxing her frustration with her house renter, Joo-in threw power punches surprising the writer who noticed his ladylord’s strange strength. Thankfully, he is aware that the steam she was letting off was inspired by him.
Round 3 of their cohabitation battle ensues when they both find themselves in front of the washroom. Bi-soo beats Joo-in who just finished working out to take a shower. But when he drenched his own clothes with water, he goes for an awkward moment with his towel-covered body demanding her not to peek.
She taunts him of his need to exercise and if he wants a heat pack for his back which he refused. After his yoga time, he finds the heat pack Joo-in left and uses it nevertheless.
“If you still can’t write it, then you lack creativity.”
Waking up the next day, another bout of dispute erupts with Bi-soo voicing out about the concept of thriller Joo-in demands for him to move to her house so he can write the script. Questioning his talent, he got furious but Joo-in draws her trump card and reminds him of their contract.
At work, Joo-in was introduced to her new stylist who was quite disappointed when she does not remember their encounter a few years ago. She seems to be an avid fan of hers and does great in her job. Joo-in also attends a meeting for her hosting stint in a drama awards show before heading to visit her mother who agreed to stay in their house.
Joo-in speaks with her tenant about her mom’s visit and knowing their situation, Bi-soo agrees. Meanwhile, Director Kang visits her old friend at his record shop who is also her son’s go-to ajussi. They catch up on the lost times as Chang-gyu ajussi even obliged to play the guitar just like the old times.
“How could he consider his dad’s illness as a headache? I know a person who acts the exact opposite as him.”
Miraculously allowing to be Joo-in’s helper in fixing the room for her mom and even getting supplies to organize, Bi-soo even defends her when the stationery shop owner mindlessly talks about the reminder he had laminated at his store. Unaware that it was because of Joo-in’s mom’s Alzheimer’s, she felt good about being defended in that situation by him.
Reaching home, they continue fixing the house and Bi-soo opens up about why he wants doors to be always closed. Joo-in thinks that doors should be open but he explains that its function is to divide spaces, hence, it should be closed. He reveals he can’t help the urge to shut the door because it distracts him.
Impressed at his effort and no-complain attitude on her sudden line of favors, Bi-soo dismisses her attempt to thank him. He tells her how he does not extend help when being asked for it. But because he really wants to do it.
“You worked hard for this, Joo-in.”
Joo-in brings her mom to their house and receives praises for her hard work. After settling her mom to rest, she receives a phone call from her friend, Jung Yu-jin (Kang Min Hyuk), who just returned to Korea to help on their family business.
At night, watching her daughter sleep, she mumbles how tired her daughter might have been. She goes to write a food recipe for her daughter to make noticing her fridge does not have cooking ingredients.
Meanwhile, Bi-soo dates his mom who keeps coaxing him to start dating. He later visits Chang-gyu ajussi who narrated his reunion with his college crush who is actually Bi-soo’s mom. Thanks to Chang-gyu ajussi, he was able to find a way to meet Joo-in’s script requirement in his own trademark writing.
He rushes to where he currently stays, but his comfort place to write is at Joo-in’s place. Going crazy in finding his writing rhythm, he decides to sneak back at Joo-in’s house to write.
“It means ‘I love you more than anyone else.”
Elated at how great the script he just wrote, Joo-in reminds Bi-soo that her mom is in the house when she finds him in the morning. But before he could escape, Joo-in mom arrives with her Alzheimer episode thinking Bi-soo is her writer husband.
The two escape the situation when the mother and daughter head to the market to buy food for breakfast. But Bi-soo who saw how Joo-in’s mom yearned for her dead husband went back to play the role.
Obliging to please Joo-in’s mom, Bi-soo goes for a botanical garden date with them and does things he would normally not do. They take pictures together and even walk while holding each other’s hands. Finding himself enjoying his role, Bi-soo throws an impromptu acoustic guitar performance making Joo-in’s mom really happy and me too.
When Joo-in receives an urgent call that she needs to attend because it concerns her endorsement deal, Bi-soo tells her to go and promises that he will take care of his mom.
“Living together with someone doesn’t necessarily mean you feel close.”
Surprised at knowing her friend Yu-jin is the new director of KT Cosmetics, they quickly catch up and renews her contract. But she tells him that she cannot go for a celebration since she has already a schedule.
Bi-soo’s mom goes to Chang-gyu ajussi’s shop just as he was about to leave and they decide to release stress at a shooting range. They eat dinner together and share their living arrangements. Chang-gyu ajussi advises Bi-soo’s mom not to force her son to live with her and who knows living apart can bring them closer.
Joo-in finds her mom and Bi-soo dancing together and it brought warmth in her heart. She goes to his room with beer cans and go for a quick chat. Confessing how she almost cried at the sight of her mom and him dancing, she tells him that he indeed resembles her dad.
The next morning, Joo-in finds her mom reading the script written by Bi-soo and also learns that her mom snapped back from her episode and pretended all along. Joo-in’s mom also asked Bi-soo a favor to play along still and have a date with her. He agrees easily to grant what she wants to do with the husband she so missed and that is to dance with him just like how she used to do it with Joo-in’s father.
“Your most glorious day will turn out to be the worst day of your life.”
Sending her mom back to the care facility, Bi-soo meets his ladylord in high spirit. She tells him that her mom likes the script of the new drama he wrote and pushes him to do the second episode. He gives her a mail sent to their house and finds it a disturbing hate mail warning her of a future peril.
The letter Joo-in received kept nagging at her that she can’t focus on her dinner with Yu-jin. She also tells him about it. They head to his place and she was surprised to see a drawing of her that he made way back when they were in high school. She basks in bliss when Yu-jin concocted her favorite Vin Chaud and advises him to serve it to the girl he loves to love him even more.
Worried about the threatening letter Joo-in receives, Bi-soo was unhappy that she was still out at night. Surprised at his worry, she tells him that Yu-jin is not her boyfriend. Lost for words, he chides her again about her situation and walks away.
“I gave you multiple chance but you can’t remember me.”
It turns out that Bi-soo’s mom and Joo-in’s mom are also old friends who reconnect once more, They share their family stories and apologize for their misgivings in not mutually trusting their friendship
At the drama awards event Joo-in will be hosting, Bi-soo walks in to her waiting room and was entranced by her appearance. He reminds her to be careful not knowing that the new stylist is Joo-in’s stalker. After the first part of the event, Joo-in goes for a quick break and was drugged by the stylist. With the show resuming and the host missing, the event team looks for Joo-in.
Bi-soo overhears the alarming situation and goes to Joo-in’s room. Yu-jin was also alerted of the situation but was beaten by Bi-soo in saving the actress who was harmed and in the brink of losing consciousness crying for help.
Oh My Ladylord Episodes 03 & 04 Musings
The “small world” K-drama trope is in place in Oh My Ladylord. Thankfully, the old cast presented are as adorable as the young main cast. Albeit the apparent conflicts already presented, it’s not as taxing and their stories are so far heartening.
I like the evenly distributed inserts of meaningful messages in the first four episodes of the series. I look forward to more of it in the future.
This week also preps us for the love triangle bound to happen. With Kang Min Hyuk’s reliable loving-you-from-afar bid in one corner and Lee Min Ki’s cohabitation-might-turned-romance pitch from another corner, we’re getting the best of both worlds.
Running a well-paced romance trajectory for the love pairing, Oh My Ladylord appears confident in its storytelling. I’m betting it will go light on its projected conflict. Hopefully it will just capitalize on those small meaningful scenes describing the characters’ emotions. Because those are resonating messages that easily slips to viewers who need encouraging moments like the ones the story provides.
Right now, I’m enjoying this series. Praying it won’t go Anakin on me.
