Nana Receives Relationship Proposals From Lee Min Ki & Kang Min Hyuk In “Oh My Ladylord” Episodes 5 & 6

oh my ladylord

Oh My Ladylord engagingly moves to an addicting pace thanks to the male leads who are unfazed to confront their emotions in front of the woman they like.

If the direction of the series will tackle the mom relationships of the main love pairing and the enticing love triangle, so be it. Oh My Ladylord can make me sit down and watch its weekly episodes so far without interruption. It actually baffles me since the rom-com plot is not that striking. I guess the right blend of familiarity among the characters makes me feel close to them too.

Oh My Ladylord Episodes 5 & 6 Key Moments

“This is my job. I have to finish it.”

Despite experiencing a traumatic situation, Joo-in finishes her hosting stint. Putting a brave front, the event flashes back in her reverie forcing her to get up. She tells Bi-soo that she will visit her mom at the hospital.

Joo-in learns about her mom’s reunion with her long-lost best friend. The next day, they were surprised by Bi-soo’s coffee delivery. He made Joo-in promise to make him drive her next time if she wants to sleep with her mom. Their morning catching up gets interrupted when Yu-jin arrives with gifts for Joo-in’s mom.

Meanwhile, Bi-soo’s mom still refuses to tell her medical condition to her son against her husband and doctor’s advice.

“Seeing you makes me feel safe.”

Bi-soo and Joo-in both receive calls from the police to give their statements since the crazy fan was caught. Finding his master home, Bi-soo took the mop to clean. Beaming, Joo-in blabs about she feels safe after being saved by him. Refusing her help in house cleaning, he tells his landlady to take a rest.

Chang-gyu ajussi gets another visit from Bi-soo’s mom who consulted her apprehension in telling her condition to her son. Responding a rational answer, he tells her to spill it if her son will know it eventually.

“I saw with my own eyes that he can only work with his scripts in this house.”

Giving his mom an idea to call the moving company on where he moved recently, Bi-soo’s mom finds out about his living situation with Joo-in. The actress explains their cohabitation is for business purposes only because of the drama they are working on together.

Something about Joo-in’s confidence in their pure business house arrangement nags on Bi-soo. It causes his imagination to run wild thinking of his landlady adorably.

Receiving a call from her mom to go to a place near her home, Joo-in and Bi-soo meet their moms at Chang-gyu ajussi’s store. Upon learning their children’s living situation, they proceed to match-make them through a blind date. All the while, they are not aware of a brewing scandal about them living together.

“Somehow, you make me feel like I’ve never lived alone before.”

Dressed up nicely, Joo-in and Bi-soo end up going to the blind date set up by their mothers. Yu-jin, meanwhile, meets a nosy reporter stalking Joo-in and is preparing for scandal news. To prevent it from happening, he resorts to telling that he’s dating Joo-in.

While listening to a song special to Bi-soo, he takes the opportunity to confess how he feels about Joo-in. Getting a surprise confession, she responds she needs to think about it and promises to hear from her the answer to his confession.

They go home together but not long after, they see Yu-jin in their doorstep. He goes straight to the point about the looming news scandal and how he’s planning to resolve it. Joo-in agrees to the news of her dating Yu-jin to thwart the news of her living together with the writer of her new drama.

“Your feelings can change anytime depending on how he treats you.”

Feeling uneasy about her rash decision, Joo-in assures him that it’s just pretend-dating. But Bi-soo, who just made a confession, of course, counters how emotions can be tricky.

Proceeding as planned, Joo-in tells her manager her real situation but lies to the CEO and Yu-jin’s sister. Meanwhile, Bi-soo learns from her mom’s friend about her condition and struggles to process the reality of his mom’s looming passing.

The next day, he calls his mom and they go for a bonding moment. He picks an array of clothing for her claiming to be his gift, but his mom refused it and opted for a ring. They later chat about his blind date with Joo-in, and he made his mom happy confessing the obvious signs of him liking Joo-in.

“I no longer want to be in the friend zone. Consider me as a potential boyfriend.”

While reveling in the finished photos for her endorsement on KT Cosmetics, Joo-in receives a bouquet of flowers from Yu-jin. Telling her friend not to overdo their charade, Yu-jin asserts wanting to break the line of their friendship.

Bi-soo arrives at his rental room and sees Yu-jin who even offered him a cup of coffee which he denied. Joo-in enters the sulking Bi-soo’s room and explained why Yu-jin came to their house. He adds another layer to his sulking by mumbling what she just did with Yu-jin almost leads to dating.

When they agree to play basketball, they land on Bi-soo’s bed in an awkward position. Sparks fly and Joo-in hurries to leave his room.

The next day, Bi-soo hands the script to Joo-in and goes to his schedule of dating his mom. He finds Joo-in outside and she chats about how the role is made for her. She suggests throwing a farewell party to Bi-soo’s mom when he shared his trouble with what gift he can give her.

“Having the people around her happy makes her happy.”

Bi-soo and Joo-in’s drama is officially picked up for broadcast. Yu-jin prepares a small party for her success. Receiving a watch gift from her friend, her thoughts wander to Bi-soo when he told her she does not need to thank him for rescuing her last time.

When Joo-in reaches home, she gets another celebration with Bi-soo who initially claims to prepare the celebration feast for him only.

The next day, Bi-soo’s mom’s farewell party was attended by her closest friends. Finally, his mom also happily wears a dress he bought that is not black and he promises to buy even more in different colors.

“Mom, don’t forget me.”

Celebrating her first day of being retired, Bi-soo and Joo-in’s moms visit Chang-gyu ajussi. However, not knowing Joo-in’s mom’s condition, they lost her when she asked to go to the washroom. Luckily, Bi-soo and Joo-in found her. But she goes to another episode of her Alzheimer’s and she can’t recognize Joo-in.

Joo-in weeps as she tells Bi-soo how she knew her mom would not remember her at some point, but she was not prepared when it happened. Bi-soo lifts her spirit up by going along with her mother’s sickness since it is her strength as an actress.

Joo-in suddenly plants a kiss on Bi-soo to both their surprise and rush to leave the scene.

Oh My Ladylord Episodes 5 & 6 Musings

Oh My Lord swiftly moves to its love triangle projection while introducing the main characters in detail. I love how the male leads in this series are drawn with ample conviction to go for their own love journeys, albeit the trite setting.

I don’t think this drama would go an extra mile in complicating the love scenario. For me it’s a good thing and a refreshing twist given how we are used to how Korean rom-com’s crazy runs, but inevitably it will lead to a happy ending.

I like how the focus of single career people to their parents is greatly highlighted – and in a sunny mood as well not the usual parents against the relationship conflict.

We already have a glimpse of Joo-in’s answer to the two dating relationship confessions she received. Most likely the plan Joo-in agreed with Yu-jin would backfire. But there’s nothing that K-Drama love can’t resolve, so we’re always safe.

But I still want to see more parade of who-deserves-Joo-in-more between Bi-soo and Yu-jin. I hope we get to see those soon.
