K-Drama Mid-Series Recap: “Oh My Ladylord” Indulges With Its Fetching Love Triangle

Oh My Ladylord grows in your heart without you realizing it!

Past the middle point of the series, Nana, Lee Min Ki, and Kang Min Hyuk have all my attention to their happy love triangle. The soothing mood and inserts of quirky moments made me a loyal follower of this series, albeit the typical rom-com trajectory it is heading to.

Oh My Ladylord Episodes 7 & 8 Key Moments

Bi-soo’s Silently Grieving Heart

Knowing about Biso”s mom’s sickness, Joo-in is all set to be a support system to him. But when she learns about his awareness of his mother’s dying condition, Joo-in perceives how hard it would be for him. Nicking a radio hosting stint, she invites Bi-soo as a guest, and he also took advantage of scoring points in front of his love rival Yu-jin.

To gift his mom with a beautiful memory, Bi-soo also asked the network president if his drama can be moved up. Diligently working to make his mom’s last days happy, his unresolved grudge with his father escalates when he hints a secret about Bi-soo that he knows about.

Joo-in’s Cutely Conflicted Heart

Choosing to implement diplomatic talk in the love triangle she has with her house tenant-writer and longtime friend, Joo-in, Joo-in confessed liking both of them. She also asks them to be patient as she ponders on who she wants to share her future together.

To settle her confusion she weighs who her heart beats for since she equally likes Bi-soo and Yu-jin. The result is a friendly date contest where Joo-in got the best of her suitors’ romantic worlds.

Oh My Ladylord Mid-Series Musings

I, myself, am surprised as to why my week is not complete without a dose of Oh My Ladylord. There’s nothing grand, nothing new, but I’ve grown to be fond of the characters in the story.  In terms of uniqueness, the love triangle in this series is probably the friendliest among those we watched previously.

We can happily send Joo-in to either Bi-soo or Yu-jin, and we will provide the united group hug to the one not chosen. Basking on their parade of ideas to win Joo-in’s heart always amuses. *chuckles

At some point, we know that Bi-soo’s daddy issue will be discussed. The same way that his cryptic vision will be explained. So, moving forward to the second half of the series, those are bound to be presented. While we bask in the adorable moments, the second part is inevitably going in an emotional direction because of the piling woes of the male lead. How the romance will prosper might be influenced by Bi-soo’s situation.

The shift of focal character evidently leans to Bi-soo moving to the culminating period. Nonetheless, it does not overwhelm the balance of the narrative. Oh My Ladylord has this serene mood despite running on an upbeat tone. That’s probably why it hooks subconsciously.

Who will win Joo-in’s heart? Will Bi-soo get through his long-running angst towards his father? Find out the answers to these questions in the last eight episodes of Oh My Ladylord.
